It's our pleasure to welcome you to the first IEEE MTT-S
International Conference on Microwaves for Intelligent
Mobility (ICMIM) to be held in Heidelberg, Germany from
27th to 29th April 2015.
The goal of this new conference is to bring together
microwave experts which are working in the fields of vehi-
cular applications (e.g. automotive radar sensors and
communication), localization and monitoring as well as in
mobile systems, machines, and other industrial appli-
cations. Microwave technologies found their way into those
applications and are rapidly growing which is why we
decided to initiate a new international IEEE conference
dedicated to those topics.
The conference will be organized every year in world wide
varying locations. The conference in Heidelberg will be the
first one of this annual event, consisting of invited talks and
contributed papers in one single track. A poster session will
receive outstanding visibility at the conference. We intend to
bring together worldwide scientists and industrial experts to
share and discuss new ideas and future trends. Lunches and coffee breaks are
included for all delegates as well as the welcome reception and a great banquet.
The city of Heidelberg with its rich history will provide an appealing destination
for your trip to Germany. Please take some extra time to visit the city and its
environment. You will find historic sites and a living city with many more places to
visit in the vicinity. For the banquet on Tuesday evening we will take all of you to
a historic knight's castle to have a medieval dinner which we are sure you'll
remember for a long time.
In total we got more than 70 submissions from 14 countries all over the world.
Almost all sessions start and end with invited talks that give overviews or provide
extra information on the sessions' topics. The best paper of the conference will
be awarded by the ICMIM Innovation Award, expressing the clear application
focus of ICMIM.

4 Chairs‘ Message
Initiating, preparing and hosting a new IEEE conference is a huge effort, from
the design of the scientific program, setting up online services, managing paper
submission and review to the on-site organization at the venue. Therefore, our
special thanks go to Martin Vossiek, Co-Chair, to Andreas Stelzer, Financial
Chair, to Holger Meinel, Local Arrangement Chair, to George Ponchak, Publicity
Chair, to Christian Groß, Conference Management and to our four secretaries
Tobias Mahler, Angela Ziemba, Martin Schmid and Jonathan Bechter just to
name a few on behalf of the entire ICMIM 2015 team. They all have been
working hard to make your stay in Heidelberg enjoyable.
Finally, we hope you will get exciting new technical insights and also find enough
time to meet with colleagues and make new friends. Together, let us enjoy ICMIM
2015 in Heidelberg and let's evolve it into a remarkable starting shot at the
beginning of this new scientific forum!
