Brown/Cinfed Credit Union Memorial Scholarship. This year, Cinfed is offering six scholarships of $2,500 each. The scholarships are designated for students who have an active account with Cinfed Credit Union and are pursuing collegiate undergraduate degrees. We’re proud to have accomplished yet another significant benchmark – from our charter expansion in 2018, to our 85th anniversary last year, to $500 million this year… all achieved thanks to the continual support of our members and employees. To share a ‘high five’ with our members and the community, we’re offering a special, limited time Celebration Certificate: make a $500 deposit and get 5.00% APY* for 500 days – and it’s available until 5/5/2020. It’s our way of saying “thank you” for helping us reach this latest milestone. But make no mistake – we’re not stopping at $500 million! Our goal is to continue growing so we can keep offering you the financial services that meet your needs every day. To that end, we are investing in new technology, including Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) at the Oakley branch which allow you to make transactions while connecting via video to our staff. As of the end of February 2020, we are seeing more volatility return with fears of the Coronavirus and uncertainty about the upcoming election. With the run we saw in stocks in 2019, many portfolios may be out of balance and taking more risk than investors are comfortable with or aware of. As the stock and bond markets move up and down, regularly rebalancing your investments can reduce the volatility in your portfolio. As an example, if your retirement plan calls for an investment portfolio that contains 60% in stocks and 40% in fixed income, you may have 70% in stock and 30% in fixed income after 2019. Rebalancing back to a 60/40 mix could take unnecessary risk off the table. Nominees will be voted in by acclamation during the meeting, since the Nominating Committee received applications from two individuals to fill the three open positions on the Board of Directors.
