BBQ AND POOL PARTIES TAKE PLACE EVERY SATURDAY

April is here and the 2017-2018 Season is about to head down Memory Lane, but don’t leave yet,

we still have fun to attend to before final farewells; after all, this is WESTWIND RV and GOLF

RESORT, where entertainment and activities go hand in hand from October to April every year, so

sit tight for a spell and reminisce with us about what has passed and what is still to come.

Dances; Exercise and Meditation programs from Aqua Zumba to Yoga, and if you are into Arts and

Crafts, we have venues for Lapidary, Ceramics, and Quilting, just to name a few.

Your imagination is your limit when it comes

to Card Games and Ball Games alike; they are

numerous and wide-ranging (see Activities

Page below), and they take place just about

every day.

Last, but not least, we have our very own

9-hole - picture perfect - Golf Course, which

can be very challenging whether you are an

experienced golfer, or not. By the way, we

do offer GOLF at a discount rate during our off-

season months, so no need to let your skills rust SQUARE DANCING

while you wait for autumn leaves to fall.

CERAMICS CRIBBAGE

At any rate, opportunities are practically unlimited, and, if you are so disposed, you can stay busy

from early dawn until way past dark, if you want to.

Since high temperatures are about to descend on Yuma, various arts and crafts, dances, and classes

are in limbo until next season, but if you are in need of food and/or beverages, the CHEERS

LOUNGE and CACTUS CAFÉ will stay open Tuesday through Friday this summer.

Other than Dances and Special Shows, KARAOKE, with JANIE, is planned for every Wednesday this

summer, and on Saturdays, during the season, our very own DJ, RUSTY, will fill your day with

tunes at the BBQ and POOL PARTY, so do yourself a favor and visit Westwind for good food and

good times all year long.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A SATURDAY BBQ AND POOL PARTY

Incidentally, we would like to hint at some great news which might be coming our way next season: It has been 3 years since his fingers tickled the keyboard in the Cheers Lounge, but lo and behold, BARRY PIPPEN showed up in March, and he indicated that he POOL PARTY (dependent on health issues) would love to come back and entertain us CHAIR YOGA again, and that would be a fabulous addition to our musical repertoire. Let us hope for the best, wish him good luck, and welcome him back with open arms. He truly is a treasure.

After a strenuous work out, our on-site LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPISTS, SCARLETT HONGXIA will make

you feel like a million bucks, and when she is done with you, walk across the hall and visit CHARLENE, our

MASTER HAIRSTYLIST and COLORIST, and you will not only feel like a million bucks, but you will look like

it, too.

CONNIE JIM GERRY

From unpretentious beginnings, the CHEERS LOUNGE and CACTUS CAFÉ were transformed into the thriving success it is today by these three enthusiastic, passionate, and remarkable people. Their vision and achievement of a vibrant HUB for our resort is now the talk of the town, as manifested by the multitude of patrons who come from near and far to savor great food and drinks. Co-managers CONNIE and JIM have been with Westwind ten and seven years, respectively, and have supervised the CHEERS LOUNGE like a finely tuned machine the whole time they have been in charge. Fortunately, they are not leaving us, but will serve Westwind in a different capacity next season. Unfortunately, though, CHEF GERRY will be leaving us for good, but the remarkable revamp work he started six years ago at the CACTUS CAFE will forever be appreciated. THANK YOU Connie, Jim, and Gerry, for your dedication and commitment. All three of you are truly appreciated and loved, and, Gerry, needless to say, you will be missed. All of us at Westwind wish all of you good luck and the very best as you embark on your new pursuits.

MEET OUR NEW MANAGERS IN THE

CHEERS LOUNGE AND CACTUS CAFE

Experience is the key word here, and ROLAND and ALFONSO bring it in abundance as they replace Gerry, Connie, and Jim, to take over the administration of the Cheers Lounge and Cactus Cafe.

Roland was a bartender at the American Legion for 5 years after 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corp (where he received a PURPLE HEART). He was the manager of the Consolidated Club at the Marine Base, here in Yuma, preceding his employment with Westwind, and he will be the manager overlooking the Cheers Lounge.

Previous employment for Alfonso was as ROLAND ALFONSO the manager of the “Yuma Landing Restaurant,” and as the Food and Beverage manager at “Cocopah Casino.” He will run the daily operation of the Cactus Café.
