THE SPONSOR A CHILD PROGRAM Since December, 2008, our "Sponsor a Child Pro-gram" raised over $90, 000.00. We are grateful to all our donors for their honorable deed. This program was created to help those children whose families cannot afford our school tuition. Life Is Meaningless Without The Cross
The Cross "is not a sign of death, but of life; not of frustration, but of hope; not of defeat, but of victory". Indeed – as an ancient liturgical hymn says – the Cross of Christ is our "only hope", for any other promise of salvation is deceptive, since it does not resolve the fundamental human problem: the problem of evil and death. This is why Christians venerate the Cross and recognize it as the sign par excellence of love and hope. Young people too, oriented by nature to life, embrace the Cross of Jesus – like Francis of Assisi and all the Saints – because they understand that the mystery of life would be a meaningless riddle without it. Do not be afraid to welcome the Cross of Christ into your life! It gives full value and meaning to life's joys and sorrow, helping every person to make his own life a gift of love for God and neighbor. The worst thing in the world is not to see him. People walk right by him and do not see him. Yet apathy reigns in religion. Christ died for us, but the average parishioner, when it comes to doing something for Jesus in gratitude for all he has done for us, will say "Let others do it". They like to believe that religion is other's work, because they don't want to be bothered. There are plenty of critics who say, "Why doesn't the Church do something? Why doesn't the Priest do something?" But the real question is; "Why don't YOU do some-thing?" YOU are the Church. Jesus died for YOU. Many today in religion substitute talk for deeds. But look at Christ nailed to the wood. He did not talk, he gave his life to save us. Many these days call themselves Christ-followers but do not follow Christ. They do not act, they sit around and discuss, debate, criticize and complain. One deed, however, is worth a thousand words. If every Christian did one good deed a day, the world would be so much more beautiful. We must meditate more on the crucifix and get back to reality. St. Francis after a long and fervent prayer before the crucifix he came to see clearly what Christ wants, and it was not holding countless meetings. Like St. Francis we must look to the crucifix and pray and think. We must do what Jesus wants. There will never be real renewal in the Church until we listen to Christ.
At the Cross the Mother of Jesus stands silently in prayer. If we follow Christ in his Passion. Mary will always be on our side.
PRAYER The spiritual life of Christian should not be limited solely to participation in the Liturgy. The Christian is indeed called to pray with his brothers, but he must also enter into his room to pray to the Father, in secret. 'Whenever you pray, go to your room, close your door, and pray to your Father in private, then your Fa-ther, who sees what no man sees, will repay you' Mt 6,6-7. Prayer is commonly held to be a conversation. In a conversation there are always an 'I' and a 'You'. So to pray is to have a conversation with God 'I and God'. In a prayer the true protagonist is God. We achieve the fullness of prayer not when we express ourselves, but when we let God be most fully present in prayer. One can and must pray in many different ways, the Bible teaches us through a multitude of examples. The book of Psalms is irreplaceable. Our relations with God are essentially those of sons and daughters, and so they must be relations of full trust and confidence, for we are not strangers, but 'members of the household of God' Eph 2,19, belonging to his family. because this is so, Christian prayer must express the sentiments of a son who is happy to treat heart to heart with his father and who throws himself into his arms with complete abandonment.

«Святими ви мусите бути, бо я святий» Лв. 19.2
З волі Творця і силою святого хрещення усі вірні кожного стану, віку й зайняття, є покликані до
повноти християнського життя.
“Господи, хто перебуватиме в твоїм наметі? Хто житиме на твоїй святій горі? Той, хто невинний
ходить і чинить справедливість і правду говорить від серця. (Пс. 15, 1-2)
Апостол Павлo в листі до Єфесян закликає, щоб кожна людина, зодягнутися в одяг святости: ―І
вдягнутись у нову людину, створену на подобу Божу, у справедливості й у святості правди‖ (Єф. 4, 24).
―А вас нехай Господь примножить і наповнить любов'ю один до одного й до всіх, такою самою, яку й
ми маємо до вас, щоб він зміцнив ваші серця бездоганними у святості перед Богом і Отцем нашим за
дня приходу Господа нашого Ісуса з усіма його святими‖. (І Сол. 3, 12-13).
Кожна людина покликана до святости, до збереження Божих заповідей, що їх записано в людському
серці природним законом. Господь ці заповіді ще в позитивний спосіб дав Мойсеєві. Врешті сам
Христос Господь доповнив їх у святій Євангелії. «Той мене любить, хто мої заповіді береже» (див.
Ів.14,21). ―Не кожний, хто промовляє до мене: Господи, Господи! – увійде в Царство Небесне, лише
той, хто чинить волю Отця мого, що на небі‖. (Мт.7,21). ―Будьте досконалі, як Отець ваш небесний—
досконалий‖ (Мт.5,48). Як слухняні діти, не потураючи колишнім вашим похотям, як то було за
вашого незнання, але як той, хто вас покликав – святий, так само й ви самі усім вашим життям станьте
святі, написано бо: Ви будете святі, бо я святий‖ (І Петр. 1, 14-16).
Змагання до святости Змагання до святости вимагає від людини постійного зусилля і покірного наставлення. Головним
середником святости є любов Бога і ближніх. Щоб вона зростала в душі і приносила відповідний плід,
людина мусить сповняти Божу волю, брати участь у св. Тайнах, особливо Св. Сповіді і в Євхаристії,
щиро молитися та сприяти братньому служінню і здобувати християнські чесноти. Найуспішнішим
засобом у змаганні до святости є слухання і читання Слова Божого. Роздума над Словом Божим
зроджує в людині силу до переміни життя і наставляє її на дорогу святости. До роздумів над Словом
Божим в особливий спосіб закликав кожну людину Синод Католицьких Єпископів який пройшов у
Римі в жовтні 2008 року, який присвятив всю свою увагу темі: ―Слово Боже в житті та місії Церкви‖.
Рівно ж і Синод наших Греко-Католицьких Єпископів закликає всіх нас до проведення нової
євангелізації серед охрещених. Очевидно, що без слухання і роздумів над Словом Божим, наше
змагання до святости було б дуже обмежене.
1. Змагання до в святости вимагає забути наші минулі і визнані на св. Сповіді гріхи, а відважно
прямувати вперед, до мети до якої нас створено. Людина ж створена до життя вічного, щоб завжди
бути з Богом. Ціллю, для якої ми все робимо і до якої прямуємо, є щасливе вічне життя. «Хто вірує в
мене, цей матиме життя вічне». Поза тим, усі інші справи є другорядними. «Яка користь людині, як
цілий світ здобуде, а занапастить свою душу? Що може дати людина в заміну за свою
душу?‖ (Мт.16,26).
2. Змагання до святости вимагає взяти до уваги спрагу людського серця, яке тужить і
відчуває потребу Бога. Сказав св. Августин: «Неспокійне моє серце, поки не спочине у
тобі, мій Боже».
3. Змагання до святости вимагає і наснаги до чогось кращого, досконалішого, більш
євангельського. «Збирайте собі скарби на небі, де злодії не підкопуються і не крадуть».
«Де скарб ваш, там і буде серце ваше».
4. Воно вимагає теж , щоб ми не задовольнялися незначними осягами, недокінченими
починами, духовною літеплістю чи легким і рутинним життям. «Ще цієї ночі душу
твою заберуть у тебе, а те, що ти зібрав, кому буде?»
