Between Pesach & Shavuos, we express mourning during the Period of Sefiras Ha’Omer in the following ways: 1] By not taking a shave or a haircut, 2] By not getting married (but to get engaged is OK), and 3] By not listening to, or dancing to lively (mainly instrumental) music. There are different customs as to which period of time to mourn: 1] from the 2nd day of Pesach until Lag Ba’omer morning - May 14th; 2] From April 25th until May 28th morning ; 3] From April 28th until May 30th morning; 4] The entire period from the 2nd day of Pesach until May 30th morning. Most people conduct themselves with one of the first 3 customs. Regardless of one’s custom, the mourning is suspended for the day of Lag Ba’omer—May 14th. All customs permit the purchasing of ANY new item, and the blessing of Shehechiyanu is permitted.
Spiritual Objectives During the Sefira:The Rabbi has spoken intensively about the spiritual opportunities one can take advantage of at this time of year:1. Learn the book of Rus through our TLC program on line.2. Learning what the behavioural objectives are when counting each day of Sefira, See the on line series “How to
Make Your Sefiras Ha’omer Count.”3. Hebrew Reading Crash Course starts this Wednesday Apr. 26th at 7:45 pm. Please RSVP for this free 5 week

Shabbos is the highlight of the week - a taste of the world to
come. Why wait for sunset when you can enjoy it
earlier? Rabbi Michalowicz will study the Sefer
“Tiv HaShabbos” (by Rabbi Gamliel Rabinowitz) to help us
achieve a deeper appreciation on how to reap the
benefits of this holy day. We will also get to sample some yummy
Shabbos foods during the class as we anxiously
anticipate the arrival of Shabbos.

of the Fathers” with the commentary of one of the
premier medieval Jewish scholars - Rabbeinu Yonah
from Gerona. Contemporary scholars praise this work
as "appropriate to every Jew in every time.”

Description: Every year we are given the precious Mitzvah of counting
the 49 days from Pesach to Shavous - but do we really understand what
we are doing? Does counting actually make you more prepared for
Shavuos?
Listen or Download at your convenience each day to understand what
spiritual muscle needs to be exercised each day.
Sefira starts on Pesach, therefor to benefit from the program, one must listen to
two classes BEFORE Pesach.

The Shul plans to increase its footprint on Disera Drive with
an additional 2,000 sq. ft. to meet our expanding needs by
opening a “Family Wing” that will house the Family minyan,
Sefard Minyan, and children’s programs. We will also be
redecorating the Fireside Lounge & Rabbi’s classroom.
