The tourism campaign aims towards encouraging
appreciation of:
– Malta, it’s people, culture and all it has to offer and,
– The importance of tourism in Malta and it’s social and
economical value for the country

Aims:

1. To engage, educate, integrate and develop young children towards a future in tourism by exposing them to its multifaceted nature.
2. To utilise the apt and enthusiasm of children’s willingness to learn, to have a ripple effect both indirectly and directly on educating the wider public.

Three Main projects that target the three main age groups.
6-8 The Adventures of Turu ProjectAge bracket 1:
The story of TURU deals with a lot of basic yet valuable and important messages that the children need to learn about Tourism from a young age.
Turu shall be visiting schools , telling his stories and children will be given ‘Turu’s Adventures Story Book ’. Children will also have the opportunity to join Turu on visits to various tourism-related sites in ‘Turu’s Hobbies’.Children that go the extra mile for tourism can also be awarded the ‘Turu Award’.

3. Turu’s Hobbies
Activities and visits to various places around Malta with the mascot Turu are being organised involving a number of NGO’s, private and governmental entities to encourage children to engage in various activities such as nature walks and visits to heritage sites. These activities are held on holidays and weekends and aim at encouraging children to visit and learn more about Malta’s history and culture from a young age.
Activity held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in collaborationwith Heritage Malta.
