What am I doing and why important?
•Developing a mathematical algorithm applied to sustainability using graph theory, game theory, cryptography, and lots of programming.

What theories will I be using?
• Graph Theory:
– Definition: branch of mathematics concerned with how networks can be
encoded and their properties measured.
– Application: road networks & communication,
• Game Theory
– Definition: the study of strategic decision making.
– Application: Used during the Cold War against the Soviets in the nuclear
arms race.
• Cryptography
– Definition: practice of studying techniques for secure communication
– Application: ATM cards & passwords
Application of the developed algorithms
• To create an iPhone application:
• Begin with New York City
What features will the iPhone app include?
• Fuel Cost analysis
• Shortest Path
– OpenStreetMap : offers open source geospatial data and
provides geospatial data for anybody to use and share.
• Path with the least amount of traffic
– Analyzing NYC Historical Traffic Data.

Conclusion
• The iPhone application will promote users with the opportunity to save money, live stress-free with out traffic, and carpool with others.
