Our company was set up to find construc-tive solutions that take into account respect for the environment and people, which at the same time stand out due to their effectiveness and represent a cost saving. LandFix Group has had an international vocation since the start of its business jour-ney in 2010. Our projects combine R&D with a willingness to contribute to regional sustainable development.

At LandFix we believe that initiative and business success have to go hand in hand with improving people’s lives. Therefore tecoFix®, our main product, has been de-signed to make dirt roads passable, im-proving communications with maximum respect for the ecosystem.

The General Manager of LandFix, Teo Blanco, is a young entrepreneur, he has a degree in Economics and has studied Road Engineering which he invested in to devel-op a product which, by improving existing polymers, was able to compact the ground, thus facilitating travel on roads that are dif-ficult to pass. With the collaboration of a chemical relative and his family’s link-up to the construction industry for generations, developed tecoFix®, the product which the company was founded on.

At LandFix Group youth and experience have joined together to chart our business path which has enabled us to start sell-ing our products in countries in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Our headquarters are located in Catalonia, but we have already established alliances with collaborators, institutions and companies from virtually all over the world.

The quality of our product – with a few features that make it unique in its cate-gory –, the strength of the values that guide our daily work and the confidence that we give our customers strengthen our convic-tion that the investment we made in 2010 – at a difficult time globally – was a good one.

tecoFix® is a 3rd generation soil stabiliser to compact dirt roads and it gives them a hardness similar to cement. It is a polymer derivative, capable of achieving similar results to those obtained in stabilisations with lime and/or concrete, but without the problems of cracking or incompatibility with the natural soil (gypsum or organic matter).

We define tecoFix® as a co-polymer ionic, organic, non-polluting emulsion which enables a continuous process in which the preparation of the subbase, the base and the compaction can take place uninter-rupted.

The main advantages of this liquid soil stabiliser are:

• Hardness and resistance: its application converts dirt roads into a solid surface which can permanently support heavy road traffic. It gives them a hardness very sim-ilar to that of cement.

• It is economical: it enables a continuous labour process and does not require the addition of aggregates or graded aggregates. A litre is enough to cover between 3 and 6m 2, depending on traffic. The cost of the work is reduced by at least 50%.

• It is fast: it can be used between 24 and 72 hours after application. It also represents a time saving of at least 50% compared to conventional treatment, from 3000 to 5000 m 2 /day.

• Durable: between 3 and 5 years depending on the traffic.

• It is eco-friendly: the product is non-polluting and environmentally-friendly. It does not damage the ecosystem, nor is it harmful to human beings. If it seeps into ground-water it does not contaminate marine life (fish, existing plankton, etc.).

• It is waterproof: water cannot penetrate the surface and goes into the gutters. So it doesn’t damage or erode the road.

• It doesn’t generate mud or dust: the road doesn’t generate dust into the surrounding environmental that it may be resting on.

• It doesn’t oxygenate: the product doesn’t allow grass to grow back on the road.

• It is aesthetic: the road is totally integrated into the landscape. You can also apply the colour that you want, using another application method. You can also paint road instructions or other instructions, without any problem.

• It is easy to use: the product is applied in 4 easy steps.

These advantages lie in the long molecular structure of tecoFix® and its high chemical compatibility to construct a reticulated compacting structure around around soil par-ticles. When the water in the soil or aggregate dissipates it creates a flexible, durable and water-resistant solid mass matrix. Once treated, tecoFix® leaves a transparent fin-ish, with a natural appearance on the surface that seems to be intact.

Our product can be applied to different constructions:

Asphalt roads

tecoFix® is used as a road base, replacing the current method of road construction bases, called the box method. 20 cm of our method has the same characteristics as 50 cm of the box method. This process also prevents the provision of land and graded aggregates, with the consequent saving of lorry movements and avoiding CO2 emis-sions into the atmosphere.

The time it takes to execute the work and its cost have been reduced by at least 50% with respect to the box method. The sealing that the product produces prevents water from leaking from the gutters and be able to damage the subbase. In this way, we can prevent the deterioration and the appearance of bumps in the asphalt.

Non-asphalt roads

tecoFix® is used in rural roads and tracks without asphalt. It lasts 3 to 5 years depend-ing on the traffic. During the setting process of the road or path, 28 days is required to obtain hardness parameters similar to cement. It is not harmful to the environment, it is waterproof (it moves water to the gutters) and it is aesthetic, as the road is the same colour as it was before the product was applied.

The methods that are currently used in rural roads are: compaction of the ground ad-joining the road; compaction with natural graded aggregate; and irrigation with com-paction (lime cement). These methods present problems such as lack of durability (be-tween one and two years); when it rains they become waterlogged and unusable and require the use of heavy machinery, such as backhoes. tecoFix® does not present any of these problems.

For roads, paths or similar, with HGV traffic (80 t dusters) or runways for light planes with up to 30 passengers, the double compaction method will be used (working with 40 cm of the existing ground).

Roads with concrete

In many countries, roads are built with concrete and not with asphalt. The rea-son is that, although you have to make an inicial investment much higher than for a road asphalt, the long-term maintenance is almost nonexistent (supposedly concrete road has a durability of 20 years, but sometimes does not last even 5).

For this reason, many countries choose this material. The problems that may arise are two, depending on the base used:

If the base used is a layer of soil, superimposed by a concrete floor above is be-tween 18 and 22cm concrete the bases are too rigid and cause cracks in the con-crete base, also cracking the concrete. A base with tecoFix ®, for its waterproof, would end this problem and would save on the amount of concrete used.

If the base used is done with selected earth layer of another place and the con-crete is applied over this layer, the base below gives way and causes cracks in the concrete, breaking it. The base tecoFix ® leverages existing land in place, improv-ing his strength and lengthens the life of the concrete.

At LandFix we go beyond selling a prod-uct. We offer a complete and novel con-struction system, which is environmen-tally-friendly, ecological, at a low cost and has a fast application time. We also explain and teach you how to apply the product, supporting the client during the process. We also offer an af-ter-sales service.

After the application, the after-sales service includes a visit by two of our technicians to the work site one week every month for as many months as the work lasts. For correct application, the success of tecoFix® is 50% down to the product and 50% down to how it has been applied, which is why supervision by our technicians is important.

The first step is to conduct a test of the product. Around 200 litres of tecoFix® is sent to the application site and our tech-nicians visit the site between 2 and 3 weeks later to perform the test. To prove that the test has been performed prop-erly, you can get an independent testing laboratory to perform a load test in the country. When the customer places an order, the product is shipped by boat. Sending and unloading takes approximately a month to complete.

tecoFix® has a one-year warranty peri-od, during which LandFix is liable for any damage to the road due to prob-lems with the product or its application. When the conditions of use permit, this warranty is extended to 3 years. If it concerns an application that will go under another type of product (asphalt, rubber, artificial turf, etc.) the warranty period is 10 years.

More tests are usually conducted at the laboratories in the country of destina-tion with which LandFix has collabora-tion agreements at the same time as the shipment. Once the month of transport and unloading has passed, it is applied and and supervised by LandFix techni-cians for a period of one to two months to check the perfect use of tecoFix®.

LandFix is not responsible (and there-fore, the following are excluded from the warranty) for potential problems associated with severe weather factors which may affect the work, these natural factors are understood as being disasters such as earthquakes, tidal waves, torren-tial rain, floods, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.

8tecoFix® forms a plastic layer around soil particles and especially clay particles in expansive clays. This facilitates the compaction of the soil and allows the water, which is often around these particles, to be released from this matrix.

The soil can be compacted to a higher density during the process. tecoFix® neutralises the electrical loads that occur between the soil particles, this allows it to be com-pacted to the highest degree. This results in increased friction between particles, which is converted into a greater load capacity for the soil.

The ground compacting emulsion of tecoFix® is applied in 4 easy steps: scarify; irrigate; earthmoving and level-ling; and compaction.

The product has been CEDEX, Vorsevi and Applus certified in Spain since 2010. tecoFix® is also approved for use in the Gambia, Panama, Peru, and Senegal. For more information, please request the declaration of conformity.

LandFix has worked in the adequacy dirt roads in the five conti-nents by applying tecoFix®. Among other places, we can see Spain, Gambia, Senegal, Morocco, Brazil, Dominican Republic, etc. They are mostly rural roads and highways become impassable when it

rains, because of the mud and stones. tecoFix® is achieved with a fast, economic and with a surprising result. Our work is always supervised by our technicians, so that the appli-cation is correct.
