Otherwise your contact in- formation will not show on your application form. You can move on to “Filling in the application form”. 2. After you have filled in the registration form, a confirmation e-mail is sent to your e-mail address. Aalto University’s application system can be found from https://apply.aalto.fi.  You need to create a user

account for the application system in order to be able to fill in an application form.

1.  Register as a user of the application service by using Create a local user account.

-  Give an e-mail address that is only in your personal use.

-  The Admission Services uses e-mail to contact you during the selection process. It is very

important that you give an e-mail address that is valid through the entire selection pro-

cess.

-  Do not write anything else on the fields except what is asked. The information you give

Filling in the application form

You can find the forms from the system navigation by selecting Forms -> Application forms: Applications

to Master’s Programmes -> Economics and Business Administration -> Application for Master’s Degree

Programmes 2012 (Econ. and Bus. Adm.). 

3.  Fill in the online application form and follow the instructions to submit it. The admission require-

ments are explained at http://studies.aalto.fi/en/admissions/business/master/ 

-  On the application form you will be asked about your target programme(s), personal

contact information and your educational background.

-  Follow the instructions on the application form. By clicking the symbol you will get

more information about a specific question.

-  Please note that you can apply only for the programmes you are eligible for. If it is stated

on the programme name “Only in Finnish” you can apply for it only if you fulfill the lan-guage requirements for Finnish language.

-  Motivation letter is part of the application form: you can prepare it in advance (max.

4000 characters) and copy-paste it directly to the online form. Motivation letter is writ-

ten in English. Accounting, Finance, Information and Service Management, and Market-

ing do not use motivation in their academic assessment. Management does, but the mo-

tivation letter is delivered in paper with other required enclosures. When applying to

aforementioned degree programs, please write for example a line (-) in the box.

-  Your session will expire in 120 minutes if you don’t keep it active. Unsaved data will be

lost.

-  You can save your application form if it is incomplete, so it is possible to return to modify

your application before submitting it.

-  After you have completed the application form, click the Save button.

4.  When you are ready to submit your application form, click the Submit button on the Case details 

page. The application must be submitted in the system before the application deadline 15 February

2012 at 4.15 pm (GMT +2:00). 

5.  After you have submitted your application, you must print the form. You can do this on the Case

details tab. Download the application as pdf file and print it (see picture 1).

You cannot print the form before it is submitted!

In some internet browsers you must first save the downloaded pdf file to your computer (right click

pdf icon -> Save as) and open it from there before printing.

6.  Sign the printed application form and send it with all necessary enclosures to:

The paper application and all its enclosures must be received by the Admission Services no later

than 29 February 2012 at 4.15 pm (GMT + 2:00 hours). Late applications will not be considered.  

Monitoring your application status 7.  Once your application has been received by the Admission Services you will receive an e-mail notifi-

cation. The Admission Services checks the application and only eligible applications will be sent to

the academic evaluation in the degree programmes. Ineligible applications (e.g. if required docu-

ments are missing, the applicant is not eligible) are rejected at this stage. If your application is in-

complete, you will be notified about it by e-mail.

8.  You are yourself responsible for checking the status of your application and making sure that all

required documents are delivered as requested by the given deadline. If you notice that some doc-

uments are missing from your application, you need to deliver them by the given deadline. You canmonitor the status of your application in the online application system by logging in and choosing

Monitoring application process on your Case details page (see pictures 1 and 2).

9.  During the selection process, the Admission Services is unfortunately not able to answer questions

about the arrival of documents or comment on individual applications or their position. Use the

online application system to monitor the status of your application. The application deadlines and

information on publishing the results is available on the university website.

If your contact information changes during the process 10.  If your contact information changes during application period or the selection process, you are re-

sponsible for updating it in the online application system. You can update your information by log-

ging in to the application system and selecting User details from the navigation tree on the left. You

must confirm the changes with your password. Please note that if you change your e-mail address,

your username will remain the same (i.e. the e-mail address you used when registering).

11. Please make sure that you keep your contact information updated during the whole process, also

after the end of the application period. The Admission Services sends e-mail updates to the address

you have given on the registration form. An official letter of acceptance is sent to accepted students

to the address that is available in the user details.
