CREATE BELIEVES IN THE POWER OF THE CREATIVE ARTS TO PROMOTE INCLUSION, EMPOWER LIVES AND INCREASE ACCEPTANCE.

Create is the UK’s leading charity empowering lives through the creative arts. Our focus is on

engaging participants in inspiring, sustainable arts programmes in areas where provision is

poor and engagement in the arts is therefore low. We know that unleashing creativity ignites

imaginations, develops confidence and builds relationships. Like setting off a firework, our

professional artists light the touch paper and our participants discover new found self-belief

and a desire to try more, do more and be more.

Each year we design and deliver arts workshops to engage people who don’t normally get the

chance to be creative. We work with seven participant groups: young patients; disabled children

and adults; young and adult carers; schoolchildren (and their teachers) in areas of deprivation;

vulnerable older people; young and adult offenders (and their families); and marginalised children

and adults. Many projects culminate in a showcase of participants’ work.

CREATIVITY IS INTEGRAL TO YOUR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING. IT ENRICHES AND NOURISHES YOUR SOUL

WE SHOULD ALL HAVE SOME EXPOSURE TO CREATIVE ACTIVITY. SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS LIKE CREATE IN HELPING TO GET THE BEST OUT OF PEOPLE IS A WAY OF DOING THAT.

THERE IS PLENTY OF MAGIC HAPPENING, NOT ONLY ABOUT THE ARTFORM, BUT ALL THE LITTLE THINGS HAPPENING IN THE ROOM, CONVERSATIONS, INTERACTIONS, KNOWING DIFFERENT PEOPLE, DIFFERENT AGES.

EACH YEAR CREATE MANAGES TO COME UP WITH EVERMORE INNOVATIVE AND ENGAGING PROJECTS, WHICH REALLY CAPTURE THE IMAGINATION OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE THEYWORK WITH. IT’S WONDERFUL TO WITNESS THE BENEFITS PROJECTS SUCH AS THIS BRING TO DISADVANTAGED YOUNGPEOPLE AND IT’S ALWAYS A REAL PRIVILEGE TO SEE THEIMPRESSIVE END RESULTS OFTHEIR CREATIVE ENDEAVOURS.

OUR ARTISTSOur programmes are delivered by exceptional artists who share our commitment to empowering lives. All are professionals in their specialist field (eg musicians, photographers, sculptors) who have outstanding communication skills and a wealth of experience in leading creative arts projects in community settings. They act as facilitators, encouraging and motivating our participants to explore their creativity, develop existing and new life skills, become more confident and have fun. All participants’ contributions are encouraged and valued: their ideas and the development of their creativity are at the heart of every project.
