Application for philanthropy campaign student focus groups

Thank you for your interest in taking part in a brainstorming session on the upcoming student philanthropy campaign! We value student input and look forward to receiving your application.

Campaign backgroundSince August 2009, a committee comprised of staff members from Stetson’s University Relations division (which focuses on fundraising) has researched and planned for a campus-wide campaign. The campaign will rely heavily on student involvement and social networking tools. Its goals include increasing class affinity, school spirit, alumni-student connectedness, and class and alumni giving. The campaign is at such a stage that it requires student input before it is finalized and launched in the fall of 2011.

What you can expect as a focus group participantThere will be three total sessions, only one of which you will attend. After you fill out this application, the committee will select the top 21 applicants and allow them to pick the focus group session that fits best with their calendars. Each session will run 90-120 minutes. We expect that you will be an engaged and active participant, sharing your original ideas and responding to the ideas of others in the group. In exchange for your time and effort, we will give you a $10 iTunes gift card. You will also be entered into a drawing for a $50 cash prize.

After the focus groups are complete, there will be opportunities for you to become a student campaign leader. Campaign leaders will be selected primarily from focus group participants who prove particular interest and creativity during a session. More information about campaign leadership opportunities will be shared as campaign plans progress.

See next page for application questions. Deadline for receipt of applications: September 15.

lmmartin, 08/25/10,
I know this can be done somehow…though we might need Mark Cahill’s HTML writing ability to make it happen. Or there may be another way. We could host it on Stetson.edu/development, or have Gary create us another website to host campaign stuff. Or we could do it through OrgSync, though I wouldn’t want to ask ppl to create an account for something new just to fill out an application. Thoughts?
