Gyms and field houses

Gymnasiums, swimming pools, field houses and multi-purposerooms demand a multi-purposelighting system. Basketball, vol-leyball and tennis require a totallyilluminated environment. Uniformvertical illumination is equally im-portant as illumination on theplaying surface.

Industrial

Machinery and other manufactur-ing equipment along with the sur-rounding area all interact with theworker’s ability to see and pro-duce products efficiently, safelyand to exacting standards. Thevalue provided by Prismalumereflectors is the result of a precisecombination of horizontal andvertical footcandles. This bal-anced illumination improves theability to see and provides anoverall level of visual comfort.

The engineered combination ofuplight and downlight providessuperior vertical illumination for awide variety of applications in-cluding warehouse aisle lighting.

Standby, Emergency and HALT™ Options

UL 1598 listed standby lightsystems

EM: When an HID lamp isextinguished due to a momentarypower interruption, and power isimmediately restored, an internalrelay energizes a tungsten halogenlamp (QCL/DC) until the HID lamprestrikes, at which time thetungsten halogen lamp switchesoff.

TD: When power is supplied orrestored to the fixture, an internalrelay energizes a tungsten/halogenlamp. The tungsten/halogen lampremains energized for a periodduring and following the HID lamprestrike as the HID lamp energizes.Following the delay period thetungsten/halogen lamp turns offprior to the HID lamp reaching fullluminance.

HALT® — Holophane Auto-matic Lamp Time-out (patentpending)

H: Designed for metal halidefixtures operating 24 hours perday, 7 days per week, the HALTdevice will extinguish the individualluminaire’s lamp for 15 minutes, once per week at random times, complying with lamp manufac-turers’ turn-off recommendations.HALT reduces the potential fornon-passive end of life lamp failurewhile eliminating the inconven-ience of manual or time controlswitching. For additional informa-tion see Holophane brochure HL-1926.

UL 924 listed emergencyfixture

ER: When an HID lamp isextinguished due to a powerfailure, 120V auxiliary power maybe supplied directly to a tungstenhalogen lamp. Tee condulet in-cluded. Not CSA certified.

AERS® luminaire

The standard Holophane lumin-aire is designed with a modifiedballast and relay. The modifiedballast is designed to operate thelamp at two input wattages: HPS,normal input like a standardluminaire, and a reduced inputeither 35% or 50% of full input;and metal halide, normal inputand a reduced input of 50%. Therelay is wired to an occupancysensor (or some type of contactclosure) through a control moduleallowing the luminaire to switchbetween the two input wattages. The relay signals the ballast whichinput wattage to supply the lampat any time.

Low voltage control

The AERS system can be installedseparately from the main powerdistribution using low voltage DCcontrol wiring. Each controlmodule is designed to handle up
