How does the city of Cordoba reflect the influence of the Muslim world on Mediterranean Europe in juxtaposed to the declining influence of that Catholic church? 4. What made Petrarch aware that a rebirth of classical learning was necessary in his time (use references to the source)? 5. Using Standage, the primary sources, and any needed outside knowledge, compare the origin and spread of distillation with the revival of classical learning.
