Opportunities to Serve
Congregational Life
Shepherd Groups meet the second or third Sundays. Check with your leaders to see where and when you meet. If you aren’t in a Shepherd Group yet and would like to join one, please speak with an elder.
All Church Prayer Meeting: Save Wednesday, January 18th @ 6:30 pm. Plan to join the congregation in lifting up the needs and concerns of Faith and of our community. Sunday School Teacher Meeting will be Friday, January 20th @ 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall.
Update from Don and Joanne Lagerwey serving with World Renew in Livingston Parish, LA: “We are super busy here. In 3 days we have over 400 surveys taken...All with needs not taken care of yet. This was a huge disaster like Superstorm Sandy in the
amount of people affected. We have 15 people constantly taking interviews from 8 AM to 4 pm. Pray that we will stay healthy and have compassion for these people.” Speech and Debate: Can you give 3 hours to help Christian students grow in faith and communication skills at our speech and debate tournament? You will enjoy listening to students speak on a wide variety of topics - serious and not so serious. Your time includes 30 minutes of training, listening to 8 speeches, completing a ballot for each speaker, and having a meal in our judge hospitality room. You choose the time that works best for you. Thursday, January 26 to Saturday, January 28 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1515 E. College Way, in Mount Vernon. You can sign up online at https://nlc2016.homeschooldebate.net or talk with a member of the South family today.
