“Life” in Camp Dina Trip 2 Week 2
ART STUDIO Renee Schneier
Say It Ain’t……Paint!!
Paint is a splatter all over in the
Camp Dina Art Studio. The girls are
busy working on their pop art
canvases. Bowls of fruit, popcorn,
Minnie Mouse etc. have all come
alive as colorful works of art.
Havdalah mats, watercolor works
and Tic-Tac-Toe boards are all
creative projects blooming in the art
room as well.
Ask your daughter what she’s
created in the Studio at Dina!

Dear Parents, We moved into Tisha B’Av with a focus on bein adam l’chaveiro that carried us through the day and the week. The electives program continues to give our campers the opportunity to enjoy their choice activities. Our days are filled with swimming, baking, art, sports, Zumba, campfires and special themed activities. Some of our campers enjoyed a beautiful sunset-hike and others an overnight camp-out. We celebrated a rocking mock wedding and an evening at Camel Beach Water-Park. We look forward to greeting you this Sunday, Visiting Day! Wishing you a comforting Shabbos Nachamu.
Sincerely,

On Sunday, we brought Tish B’Av to an end with an inspiring bonfire and kumzits with Mrs.
Miller by the Camp Dina lake.
On Monday Bunks Yud Aleph,
Yud Bais, and Yud Gimmel
headed out to Stokes State Forest
for a challenging hike up to the top
of Sunrise Mountain. As they
reached the pinnacle of the
mountain they were moved by the
incredible view all around them. It
was there we sat to watch the sunset. Later that night we cooked hot dogs and delicious s’mores in
the campfire.
Bunks Yud Daled and Tes Vav traveled to Dingman’s Ferry for their overnight. We cooked pizza
and s’mores in the campfire . In the morning, we boarded the bus for Stokes State Forest and
went hiking in the creek. The girls had a
great time cooling off in the water after a
hot hike.

This is the recipe the girls have been waiting for all summer. They LOVE
to make doughnuts. The dough is so easy to make and the extra special treat
is the Oreo center. We hope you will use it during the year especially during Chanukah.
Oreo Doughnuts by Naomi Nachman 1 Tablespoon yeast
1 cup warm water
¼ cup sugar
6 Tablespoons canola oil
2 large eggs
1-teaspoon salt
4 cups unbleached flour
5 cups vegetable oil for frying the doughnuts
20 Oreo cookies
Confection sugar for dusting
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon yeast in 1 cup warm water and sprinkle ¼ cup sugar over it. Let stand for 5
minutes until foamy.
In the same bowl as the yeast mixture, add the oil and eggs. Mix until combined. Add 2 cups of
the flour and salt and mix. In remaining intervals add remaining flour to make smooth soft dough.
Cover and rise for 1 ½ hours.
Roll out the dough until ¼ inch thick. Cut rounds of dough about 3 inches across. Place on a
floured surface. Wrap Oreo cookie with the cut rounds of doughnuts.
Heat oil in a pan until oil hits 360 degrees.
Drop doughnuts top side down into the oil. Keep oil at constant temperature and fry 3-4 at a time
while turning the doughnuts once about 1 1/2 minutes per side.
Once it has cooled roll it in confectionary sugar.
