Dear Prospective Client
Over the last 20 years ANTARES has grown from a single small office
in Germany to an international company with offices in Houston and
Cairo serving customers in over 30 countries. Close collaboration
with our customers has been key to expanding our business. Our
customers see ANTARES as a partner not only for leading edge
technology but also for training, maintenance and Research &
Development.
Our clients appreciate the individual and comprehensive support
provided by ANTARES and the reliability of the tools and surface
system. The combinability of our instruments (see next page) helps
them to reduce rig time dramatically. ANTARES tools are accepted by
State and International Oil Companies because the response and the
accuracy of the tools provide logs comparable to those of major
service companies, as demonstrated in test runs.
Therefore I'm happy to present you our latest catalogue featuring a
wide range of logging tools and accessories. Together with my team, I
hope we will become partners in the future. Discover the 'German
Engineering' difference!

The 1512 Multifinger Caliper (MFC24) is used to sense deposits like scale, but also holes and corrosionor mechanical damage inside pipe. 24 motorized fingers measure accurately pipes of up to 7" indiameter. Two centralizers above and below support the tool during logging. Multifinger calipers areespecially useful when acoustic measurements cannot be run like in gas wells or in heavy mud.The ANTARES GeoBase 3D-Log View visualizes the measurements. The ANTARES 1027 and 1028 Caliper tools are non-motorized 3-arm instruments. The caliper signalsare generated by using high-resolution precision magnetic sensors and cover a range between 100and 330 mm (4" and 13"). The ANTARES 1027 tool can be run on its own as a 3-Arm Caliper or incombination (with 60 degrees offset) with the 1028 tool to become a 6-Arm Caliper.

The ANTARES 1029 6-Arm Caliper tool is a motorized instrument. All six arms provide individualmeasurements. The six caliper signals are generated by using high-resolution precision magneticsensors and cover a range between 101 and 786 mm (4 and 31 inch). An extension arm kit allows formeasuring borehole diameters up to 1,094 mm (43 inch). From the six independent radii measure-ments, an average borehole diameter and X - Y - Z average diameters can be calculated.

During one logging run, the formation travel timein the open-hole interval and the cement bond log in the cased-hole section can be recorded. The logrequires a fluid-filled borehole but is independent of the mud type.

The Radial Segmented Bond Tool (RSBT) evaluates the cement bond quality and integrity toboth pipe and formation by providing the measurements of the cement bond amplitude (CBL)through near receiver (3-ft crystal ), and variable density log (VDL) through far receiver (5-ftCrystal). The RSBL tool also provides a cement map through eight segmented receivers, eachsegment covers 45° section of the pipe.

The ANTARES 1471 Pulsed Decay Instrument (PDN) is a so called ‘Neutron-Gamma’ tool, i.e. itemits neutrons and detects gamma rays. The instrument measures the thermal neutron capture cross-section ( ) and provides realtime Borehole Sigma and Formation Sigma readings. The tool works inreservoirs with medium and high porosities and water salinities of around 40,000 ppm NaCl and above.

The Compensated Neutron instrument works with an Americium Beryllium sourceand two detectors. The source emits high energy neutrons, which undergo scattering in the forma-tion, lose energy and produce gamma rays. The thermal neutrons are measured by the two detectorsin the tool. The tool can be run in both open and cased holes and in most types of mud. In order tominimize the borehole effects, the tool is run decentralized.

The ANTARES1503 Digital Free Pipe Instrument detects the movement of a pipe string asthe pipe is stretched, compressed or torqued. No movement is an indication of stuckpipe. The digital system is calibrated in order to obtain an indication of the percent of freepipe. Motorized arm assemblies retract in order to allow the instrument to pass throughrestrictions. These arms extend to hold the instrument securely in place duringmeasurement time. The precise positioning of the instrument inside the borehole isassisted by using a CCL.
