New Outdoor Statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe coming
soon.
Through our discernment process we are looking for ways to clearly show our
welcoming of our Hispanic sisters and brothers. We are very excited that a pedestal and a new statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be installed soon, thanks to the sponsorship of our Hispanic parishioners. It will be placed within the suggested future bell tower across from the mailboxes. Let us celebrate with joy!

With appreciation from Annunciation Conference of
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
With the completion of its fiscal year on 9/30/16, the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at Annunciation takes this opportunity to pass on the heartfelt THANKS from those in need, to you who have supported SVdP efforts by your donations, involvement and prayers. Through this ministry, we are following in His footsteps by reaching out to help feed, house, and care for those in need. The summary of our efforts for our fiscal year include:
**Spending kept low by parish/school donations and membership at North Alabama Food Bank. Actual value of food distributed is $12,496.23
During this period, Annunciation’s SVdP added a weekly food distribution hour in May and earned its aggregation as a recognized conference in the international organization. The lives touched, the differences made, and the evangelizing that happened were made possible, in part, by you. Thank you for your generosity.
Interested volunteers are always welcome to visit our weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 4:30 in the Small Nursery or call Anne Werling at (256) 654-2124.

Attention Alabama Taxpayers
As you review your Alabama taxes this season, please consider planning for your 2016 Scholarships for Kids contribution to help St. Ann School. The Alabama Accountability Act allows dollar-for-dollar state income tax credits for donations to approved SGOs (which also qualify as 501(c)3 organizations).
Please go to www.alabamakids.net to learn how to take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity for Alabama taxpayers and St. Ann School.
Three easy steps to receive your tax credit and help St. Ann School:
Reserve Reserve credits on myalabamataxes.alabama.gov/. First time users will create an income tax account with a social security number or Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and the Alabama adjusted gross income (AGI) from the previous year’s tax return.
Choose Choose Scholarships for Kids from the Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) drop down menu.
Donate Donations must be received by SFK within 30 days of reservation. Mail check to: Scholarships for Kids, Inc. P. O. Box 10204 Birmingham, AL 35202 Make quarterly estimated tax payments? Donate quarterly. Donors can offset part of their quarterly payments when they donate to SFK.
For more information, please consult your tax advisor and www.scholarshipforkids.org. Parishioners Scott Brown, Anne Werling, and Jamie Gauthier are willing to discuss the program with you.

The "fetus"-----human life or not?
As pro-lifers, we need to educate ourselves and have answers to pro-choice arguments and
rhetoric. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the typical pro-choice claims and we will arm you
with good and accurate information to refute their misleading and false arguments.
For many years, their most significant and basic argument has been that the so-called fetus is not a
human life; it's just a simple mass of tissue or part of the pregnant woman's body. They also claim
that the question of when human life begins is uncertain and a religious issue.
However, medical textbooks and scientific reference works consistently agree that life begins at
conception, when a genetically distinct individual is brought into existence. Some of the world's most
prominent scientists and physicians testified to a U.S. Senate committee that human life begins at
conception. At these same hearings, pro-abortionists, though invited to do so, failed to produce even
a single expert witness who would testify that life begins at any point other than conception.
From the moment of conception, the unborn fetus is not simple, but very complex. The newly
fertilized egg contains a staggering amount of genetic information, sufficient to control the
individual's growth and development for an entire lifetime. The key word is development. Like a
toddler or adolescent, the term fetus does not refer to "non-humans", but to humans at a particular
stage of development. It is scientifically inaccurate and untrue to say a fetus is not a human being
simply because he or she is at an earlier stage of development than an infant.
Being inside something is not the same as being part of something. The mother and the unborn
child are two separate individuals and half the time, they are not even the same sex! The child has
its own DNA, fingerprints and blood type, distinct from the mother's. The unborn child even takes an
active role in his or her own development, even controlling the course of the pregnancy and the time
of birth.
Pro-Life Answers to
False Pro-Choice Arguments
(Part I)

SCRIP cards are regular gift cards, just like the ones you can buy at the store, but you help St. Ann School when you purchase them at the SCRIP table after each Mass or in the Parish Office during the week. St. Ann School is able to buy the cards at varying merchant discounts and then sell them to you at face value. Some cards earn as high as 18% return for the school. We carry many major retailers, restaurants, groceries and gas. For a complete list of merchants we can order from, see: www.shopwithscrip.com and scroll to the bottom for a complete retailer list. We can order any of the cards listed. Thank you for supporting our school.

termina y a veces no podemos ayudar a algunas
familias, en dificultades económicas.
La Iglesia ayuda a los necesitados. Nosotros somos
la Iglesia. Que Dios les bendiga por compartir sus
dones con su prójimo.
Para celebrar sus 15 años, necesita: 1. Haber recibido el sacramento de la confirmación. 2. Haber asistido a cuatro pláticas pre-quinceañerales
de doctrina para jóvenes los domingos. 3. Hablar con el padre o el diácono para fijar la fecha;
