Annual Session 2018 Registration Guide
Diagnosing the Future
CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME
The ISDA staff and I have put together a program this year that we hope will help you recall the past, assess the present and look to the future for our dental profession. The schedule we have put together is both exciting, diverse and cutting edge in some of the newest areas of oral health care.
We were very fortunate to be able to bring to Boise some of the most sought-after experts in the country. Ken Berley, DDS, JD is an attorney and nationally renowned practitioner and speaker in the field of dental sleep medicine. Tieraona Low Dog, MD is a dynamic, entertaining and informative authority in deciphering the maze of modern health care. We will also be welcoming home one of our own. Robert Timothy, DDS, formerly of Soda Springs, will be highlighting some of his recent training as a new Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist and share with us how we can maximize cone beam computerized tomography in our practices. The Idaho
Spotlight Series will again feature some of our local talent, sharing secrets in their areas of expertise. You will be able to find something of interest and benefit to all members of your team. So bring the whole team and enjoy all that Boise has to offer, from shopping to restaurants and great hotels or embark on an exciting excursion with the family.
As we forge into the future, we will need to be equipped and supported. We expect to have over 75 vendors participate this year with products, information and equipment on hand. Bring your shopping list and support the exhibitors. We need them and they need us. Enhance your relationship with them and embrace their desire to improve our practices and our future.
Plan for the future, reconnect with colleagues and friends–we’ll see you in Boise on June 13-15, 2018!
Dr. Brian R. Crawford 2018 Annual Session Chair
Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

Mountains and museums. Restaurants and rivers. Festivals and fresh air. Many find Boise to be a surprising blend of urban and outdoors — big enough to have all the comforts of a big city, yet small enough to make it easy to enjoy it all.
Arts & CultureYou’ll find installations, murals and public art around the city, and can tour the Boise Art Museum, Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial, Zoo Boise, Discovery Center of Idaho, historical museums and other cultural hotspots within a few blocks of one another. A Boise Museum Pass makes it easy and affordable! Visit 7 of Boise’s Museums for a fraction of the combined regular price. Passes can be purchased at the Discovery Center.
Nationally-renowned theater and performing arts companies also call Boise home, including the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and Idaho’s premier performing arts center the Velma V. Morrison Center. For information about seeing a performance while in town, go to idahoshakespeare.org and morrisoncenter.com.
Family FunConsider taking the family for a day of rafting on the Payette River. Or for a more leisurely float, rent a tube for the Boise River and float right through downtown! The Boise foothills have hundreds of miles of hiking trails and the Boise zoo is right in the heart of Julia Davis Park in
downtown. With family activities at every turn, it’s no surprise that Boise was ranked #2 for the Best Cities for Raising a Family (out of the 100 largest metro areas in the US)!
Shopping:Boise is the biggest metropolitan area between Portland and Salt Lake City, making it the shopping destination for over 600,000 people. More importantly for visitors, this attracts upscale and anchor retail stores, as well as, a host of one-of-a-kind local businesses. Whatever your taste (or budget), Boise has something that fits. For a listing of what downtown Boise has to offer, visit www.downtownboise.org.
DiningBoise’s food scene is diverse and delicious with distinctly Idaho highlights. Often using ingredients sourced from local farms and ranches.
For endless variety in one stop, try downtown Boise. Nearly every style of food and attitude is on display—from swank lounge menus to casual pub fare to ethnic cuisines.
At night, the downtown core becomes a full-on playground. With an active local and regional music scene, several clubs and venues often feature live entertainment. Home to a distillery and several breweries, you can find a perfectly made cocktail or small-batch brews in spots across the city.

and build relationships with key partners. All your dental needs will be covered and on display. Please spend some quality time with our exhibitors and let them know how much you appreciate their support for dentistry in Idaho. Be sure to join us for “Lunch in the Hall” on Thursday and then cap off your day with our Exhibit Hall Social after class for a chance to win exciting prizes.
The President’s Dinner will be held on Friday night and we’d love to see y’all there in your Levi’s, boots and cowboy hats! In keeping with our western theme we will have a band, line dancing, and a mechanical bull. What could go wrong? Friendly office competition on the BULL? Bring the little ones and give them the thrill of their first RODEO!
Nancy and I personally invite all of you, your staff and family to attend the 2018 Annual Session. An event that will showcase Idaho, who we are, and the continuing education in Dentistry.

GOLF REGISTRATIONCrane Creek offers tight fairways, lightening quick greens, and a pesky canyon that meanders though 18 holes. Nestled in the Boise foothills, the 18-hole championship golf course features treelined rolling bent grass fairways that traverse their way past fairway bunkers to ultimately reach luscious, bent grass greens. Coupled with fantastic views of the surrounding foothills and city, and ever-present crystal skies, this will be a great way to kick off the 2018 Annual Session.
Game format will be a shamble. $130 Registration fee includes greens fee, cart, and box lunch. Caddy tip and club rentals are not included.
