Invitees, Esteemed Members, Spouses, Ladies and Gentlemen.

On behalf of the EC Members of the SCS Forum of Chennai, we have

great pleasure to extend a hearty welcome to all Forum Members,

spouses and special invitees to the Annual General Body of the

Sr. Citizens Support Forum being held on 30thJune 2018, Saturday at

Russian Cultural Centre, 74, KasthuriRanga Road, Alwarpet, Chennai-

18 at 4.30 PM. With abundant grace of the Divine Power, we are

fortunate to assemble here this year to review the activities of the “SCS

Forum” for the year ended on 31.3.2018 and formulate our plans for the

future. We deem it as a great honour to present the Annual Report and

Audited Accounts of the SCS Forum to this August Body for its valuable

consideration and approval.

Rejuvenating the values and ideals of our Indian culture whichare neglected in the modern era and upliftment of needy anddowntrodden class of the society by promoting relaxed livingNilayams by the State Govt.

Arranging tours to members at least once in six months andcultural activities (Music concert) once in a year.

To publish an 'Elders Personal Record' for free distribution.

The Senior Citizens Support Forum commenced its activities on 29.1.2015. The figures given below reveal a commendable growth.

During the year two Annual General Meetings were held to review the activities and consider the agenda subjects

required for the Annual Returns as stipulated in the Tamil Nadu Societies Act under which the byelaws are

registered.

The regular AGM of Senior Citizens Support Forum was held on 27th June 2017 at Russian Centre of Science

and Culture, Alwarpet, Chennai-18. The President Dr. V.G. Santhosam presided over the meeting.

After invocation song by Tmt. Dr. J.K. Vasuki, Donor Member, the President delivered his welcome address

highlightening the activities conducted and the achievements of good will among the community of senior citizens

and other Associations serving for the elders. Then he invited the Secretary to move the subjects referred to in the

agenda item war. The Secretary read out the minutes of the previous AGM held on 27.6.2017 and requested the

members to approve. It was unanimously approved by the members.

Secondly the Secretary presented to the house for the approval of Annual Report for the year 2016-2017. It

was approved unanimously. Then the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended on 31.3.2017 was placed

before the house. It was also approved unanimously. The General Body accepted the recommendation of the

EC and approved to reappoint Sri. A. Mohan Chartered Accountant as Auditor to audit the accounts for the ensuing

year 2017-2018 also and to pay a remuneration of Rs.2000/- to audit and to submit returns under I.T. Act. The

General Body Meeting ended with vote of thanks by the Secretary R. Subbaraj.

The Special General Body Meeting was held on March 31st 2018 Saturday by 10.30 AM at Russian Cultural

Centre, Alwarpet, Chennai – 600 018.

After Tamil Thai Vazhthu by Prof. Dr. AbiramaSundari, Queen Marys College, Chennai, the President Dr.

V.G. Santhosam delivered his welcome address and highlighted the activities of Forum and appreciated the growth

of the Forum in providing support to the Society. He thanked all the members in electing the New Executive

Committee Members for a period of two years upto 31.3.2020 without any contest.

The Election Returning Officer Dr. M.P. Nirmala I.A.S. Retd. read out the list of new ECM declared unopposed

and handed over the proceedings to the President. Followed by handing over, the Secretary moved the agenda

subject for General Body's recording.

Topic: 'Current Problems'

Meetings

We are proud to record that on 23rd September 2017 Members and

spouse went on a pilgrimage tour to Sripuram Golden Temple,

Vellore and Dhanvanthri Temple near Wallajapet. It was initiated and

organised by Sri.S.Chidambaram, Sri. V.N. Pattabiraman. 15

participants enjoyed the tour and companionship. The Secretary

arranged the sponsor Sri. S.Narasimhan, Vice Chairman 'Sattva'

Group of companies.

Another two visits were organised. The first was on 12th April 2017 to

Mannmuqi Village – Elder care centre. Members visited the centre

housed in a spacious land. Since it is initial stage most of the villas

were not occupied. Members were provided healthy lunch. Members

toured on the leadership of Justice P.R. Gokulakrishnan returned in

the evening with full enjoyment. The second one was on 23.11.2017

to Annandam Old Age Home at Kalikuppam to felicitate the study

centre launching for the students in and around the centre a

spacious and well equipped. Members enjoyed the delicious

balanced dinner and left the centre with full satisfaction.

sang the Prayer Song. Dr. V.G. Santhosam, President of the SCS

Forum delivered his Welcome address.

Mr. K. Sivakumar compere highlighted about the Function such

as the vision of the Forum, the members are experienced experts, professionals, administrators,

stalwarts in various walks of life and business magnets. The forum committee collected articles which are

the real inspiration for this book “Elders... Wisdom”. This is an encyclopadic memory.

Followed by introduction about the function, the Chief Guest Hon'ble Dr. Justice S. Vimala, Judge

of Madras High Court was honoured by the President and Secretary with shawl and memento, and

Hon'ble Justice Dr. S. Vimala released the Book. Sri. B.S. Raghavan I.A.S. Retd. Patron and one of the

sponsors received the book. Then the President honoured the book Reviewer Sri. Kizhambur Sankara

Subramaniam. Editor of Kalaimagal Magazine the honoured guest Sri. Kizhambur.

The book reviewer Sri. Kizhambur Sankara Subramaniam at the outset appreciated the

publishing committee which collected different subjects by the expertise knowledge in their field of

experience. Each article is a gem. The “Elders... Wisdom” Book is a crown made from pearls and

emphasised that each family should have this as an encyclopaedia memory (Guide).

speaks about the pathetic environment of the society.

The Senior Citizens should involve and share their

experience and expertise knowledge atleast to light a

candle to eliminate the darkness. If the Senior

Citizens or Forum aim, the society can be changed on

productive line. He requested & concluded that each

Senior Citizen should realise this and help for integrity

and honesty rejuvenation.

Celebrations of Senior Citizens Support Forum were held on 31st March 2018 at Russian Cultural Centre from 10.30 AM onwards.

Annual General Body Meeting for recording the Election results of the New Committee Members for the period of two years from 1.4.2018 to 31.3.2020.

The AGM was called to order by inviting the President Dr.V.G.Santhosam, Tmt. Dr. M.P. Nirmala, IAS (R), Returning Officer and Sri.R.Subbaraj, Secretary to the Dias. Prof. Dr. Abirama Sundari sang the Tamil Thai Vazhthu.

Followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu, Dr. V.G. Santhosam delivered his welcome address highlighting the growth and achievements of the S.C.S. Forum during the year 2017-2018 and thanked the members for electing the New Exe Committee Members unopposed. He also appreciated the Election Returning Officer for accepting this assignment and conducting very efficiently. He invited the Returning Officer to announce the Election results declared. Tmt. Dr. M.P. Nirmala, I.A.S. (R) announced the results and handed over the proceeding to the President and Secretary. Then the Secretary moved the Agenda subject to record the Result in the AGM. It was unanimously approved to record.

The compere Sri. K. Sivakumar invited the Chief Guest Hon'ble Sri. M.M. Rajendran, IAS (Retd) Former Governor of Odisha and the Chief Secretary of TN Govt. to Dias. Then invited the Awardees, Sri. B.S. Raghavan, IAS (Retd), Patron, Sri.K.LakshmikanthanBharathi, IAS (R), Dr. D.S. Ramiah, Former D.G.M. SBI, Dr. S. Ponnuswamy, Advisor to RITES, Sowil; Justice Dr. P.R. Gokulakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of Gujarat and Sri. S.P. Ambrose, IAS (R), Former Publisher and Editor of Adyar Times to the Dais.

Prof. Tmt. Vijayalakshimi Ramasamy was invited to felicitate the Awardees availing power point presentation. Followed by the felicitation, the Chief Guest Hon'ble Sri. M.M. Rajendran presented the Awards-Sheilds to the Awardees and honoured with shawl.

The President presented gift-books to Awardees.

In his special address, the Chief Guest Hon'ble Sri. M.M. Rajendran said the world is not always happy place. You can choose to remain angry about injustice and lost opportunities or you can choose to move forward. That is what this Nonagenarian Awardees disclose their ability to adapt to ageing by putting to optional use to enhance health and longevity. Intimacy, generativity, integrity-provide a road map for our journey by revising old habits and try new things for one ideal of life a wonderful, glorious lateral life will come he concluded.

Mr. Michael Gorbatov ESQ Vice Consul Russian Consulate, Chennai and Justice Dr. T.N. Vallinayagam Former Judge of Madras High Court were invited to Dias to release the Members Directory and receive it respectively.

With that event the first session ended for lunch. Every one left the auditorium with joy to enjoy the packed delicious lunch.

Monthly MeetingAfter high tea the second session started to celebrate birthday of Members who were born during

March month. The Secretary invited the Guest Speaker Dr. M.N. Sankar M.D. to the dias. Sri. M. Roosevelt was greeted by Members and he cut the cake for distribution to members.

Followed by birthday honour the Guest Speaker was honoured with Memento and shawl by Justice P.R. Gokulakrishnan. Dr. K.M. Ramanujam introduced the speaker.

Dr. M.N. Sankar MD delivered an excellent speech on the topic 'Health in your hands' adopting Acupuncture science.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks. All the participants were gifted with pain relief ring.
