The year 2014 has a spe-
cial significance for Khu-
baib Foundation because
it is our 15th year to serve
humanity in need at large.
Since 1999 when Khubaib
Foundation was founded
and till today, we have
been consistently trying to
bridge the humanitarian
services to humanity,
wherever and whenever
needed. During the last 15
years, Khubaibians got
more and more momen-
tum and keep striving for
the well-being of poor, de-
prived and vulnerable seg-
ments of society. On ac-
count of the Khubaib’s ef-
forts and services in the
field of nonprofit and hu-
manitarian services to im-
prove the socioeconomic
conditions of the society.
This report will provide a
glimpse of 2014 in seg-
mented shape, in the de-
scription of its ten areas of
activities. Our goal is to
continue to work on the
cutting-edge in human de-
velopment and the most
fragile segment as or-
phans. I believe that the
service and respect of hu-
manity lead to a true suc-
cess in our earthly abode
as well as in hereafter.
This year was full of chal-
lenges like earthquake,
flood and drought, like
disastrous situations that
we encountered with great
courage, utmost sincerity
and hard work. Our or-
phan care report and its
difference from 2012 to
2014 shows that the num-
ber is tripled.

of Khubaib Foundation has created
thousands of success stories. The
numbers of beneficiaries are in mil-
lions and impact on the socioeco-
nomic and psychological aspects of
their lives cannot be quantifiable.

repute at international level when its
work was applauded during the
rescue, relief and rehabilitation

disastrous floods of Pakistan 2007,
2010-14, rehabilitation of Swat and
Bajaur IDPs in 2009 and 2013
respectively, Earthquake 2013 in

KHUBAIB EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS 2014
Pakistan is the densely populated area having currently 180 million and the 6th most populous country with low-
est literacy rate to 55 percent and stands at 160th in total countries of the world. (UNESCO, 2016)
Paucity and helplessness of orphan children are the significant barriers to many children getting into school, reg-
ular attendance and academic achievements. Economic hardship and reduced parental care and protection mean
that orphans and vulnerable children may lose the opportunity to go to school.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” (Nelson Mandela)

Disaster Management: Relief Activities
Pakistan has seen most atrocious natural disasters in about 6-7 decades. From the great heights of the Karako-
ram ranges to the waters of the Arabian sea, all the places in between them, have seen worst upheavals, includ-
ing Horrifying Earthquakes, Vicious cyclones, Periodic Droughrt, Dreadful Floods etc. left massive destructions
in this region.
Tharparkar, eighteenth largest desert in the world
with an area of about 22,000 square kilometres and
population of 1.5 million approximately. It consists
of 24,00 villages in which more than 50 percent of
its population practicing the Hindu religion. For
about more than a decade, there have been the
drought conditions due to that 50 percent of the
overall population migrated to barrage areas for their
survival. To the relevance of the poor weather con-
ditions, it is heartening to note that the deaths of doz-
ens of innocent children had occurreddue to drinking
contaminated water and facing abdominal problems
resulting malnutrition and deadly diseases.Pertain-
ing to the above conditions, there is no proper
healthcare facility in the Mithi Civil Hospital where
the 200 children have died because of malnutrition.
A large number of sheep, camels, cows and goats
have died in the arid, rain-dependent district. Scores
of peafowl have perished in various villages.
The first initiative of relief carried out by Khubaib
Foundation in that area was the provision of dry food
items to the drought affectees in Tharparkar-Sindh.
The food distribution was focused for the most af-
fected population. Khubaib Foundation provided
dry food Items (Ration) to 500 families in the
drought hit-areas of Tharparkar. The description of
food items for each family is as below:

04 Milk Packs 05 litres
05 Tea ½ KG
06 Rice 02 KG
07 Cooking Oil 02 litres
08 Mineral Water 05 litres
Ten water wellsof Drinkable Water
For the Last couple of years, it has been recorded
that hundreds of minors’ deaths attributed to famine.
The core issue concerning Thar is basically not the
drought, butthe health issues, which is based the
prime quagmire issue regarding clean drinking wa-
ter. Drought is not a new thing in this region, mis-
management may be one of the concerns behind in-
itial tragedies and there is a dire need to set up a
well- organized system for water and sanitation in
this area on a governmental level. To follow its mis-
sion as serving the humanity in need irrespective of
creed, caste and religious differences.
Khubaib Foundation in collaboration with IHH has
excavated from Khubaib foundation to realize the
poor and vulnerable conditions in the region.
Flood 2014
Like 2010 and 2013, which saw the worst floods in
Pakistan’s history, 1800 deaths and 21 million ef-
fected and 178 deaths and 1.5 million effected re-
spectively.
2014 flood also saw massive destructions in which
367 people died in the disastrous situation of flood.
Over 2.5 million people were affected by the flood-
ing from over 4,000 villages. Nearly 700,000 people
were evacuated and the floods left over 129,880
homes damaged. Over one million acres of cropland
and 250,000 farmers were effected in most cases re-
sulting in loss of standing or cash crops. In the first
week of September, heavy monsoon rains and floods
in the catchment areas of India’s eastern rivers of
Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej and Jhelum resulted in flash
floods in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu
and Kashmir and later on Sindh. Keeping in view the
heavy losses in the wake of the floods of 2014, Khu-
baib Foundation and IHH Turkey following the or-
ganizational disaster management strategy moved
its relief teams in various flood affected areas of Pa-
kistan and Kashmir. The Foundation established re-
lief camps in the districts of Jhang, Gujrat, Hafiza-

Global Humanitarian Assistance
Due to the conflict in Syria, essential infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. 191,000 people were killed
and more than 12.2 million people require urgent assistance, including over five million children. Some 7.6 million
people are internally displaced and another 3.2 million are refugees in neighbouring countries. Whilst the search
continues for a political solution to the crisis, humanitarian organizations will do all they can, to reach as many
people as possible with life-saving assistance. Three major crises with significant regional impact – Central Afri-
can Republic, South Sudan and Syria dominated humanitarian response efforts. And these crises are declared at
the highest level of the humanitarian community and will need a continuous requirement of significant humani-
tarian assistance in upcoming years. Because of massive destruction, where essential infrastructure hasbeen dam-
aged and destroyed. (Global Humanitarian Review)
