* Made representation at the Linkage Committee Meeting of M.D. Shah Mahila College undertaken for the upliftment of girl students and vocational guidance, which was attended by 225 students. The events was in collaboration with WIRC. Ms. Preeti Savla, Chairperson of WIRC also attended the seminar.
* Successful Representations made to Finance Minister for extension of tax audit due date.
* Successful Representations made to Finance Minister and GST Council for extension of filing of GSTR 9 and 9C
* Successful Representations made to Finance Minister for extension of implementation of Vivad se Vishwas Scheme
* Successful Representations made to Finance Minister for extension of Income Tax Due dates relating to Belated ITR Filing, TDS and Advance Tax.
* Successful implementation of Google Forms system for Pre-registration for The MCTC Seminars for the first time
* Created a Telegram Group for MCTC members so that the members can stay updated with events and activites of MCTC along with tax updates.
* Series of Webinars held during the COVID 19 Lockdown period.

Notice is hereby given that 41STANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of THE MALAD CHAMBER OF TAX CONSULTANTS will be held on Sunday, 5th July, 2020 at 10.45 a.m. at SNDT Mahila College, Liberty Garden Road, Malad (West), Mumbai – 400 064 to transact the following business :
AGENDA
1. To read and confirm minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held on 14TH July, 2019.
2. To receive and adopt Audited Statement of Account of the Chamber for the year ended 31- 03-2020 along with Auditors Report and Annual Report of the Managing Committee for the period from 14.07.2019 to 05.07.2020.
3. To appoint auditors for the year 2020-21 and to fix their honorarium.
4. To declare results of the election of the President and Twelve Members of the Managing Committee for the year 2020-21.
5. To transact any other business with the permission of the Chair.

Notes1. The report of the Managing Committee, Auditor’s Report and Audited Statements of
Accounts will be emailed to all separately and same will be available on our website. However, on request in writing, the same will be sent to the members.
2. If there is no quorum by 10.45 a.m., the meeting will be adjourned for half an hour and the adjourned meeting shall be held at the same place with the same agenda and the members present will form the quorum.
3. The queries, if any, on Accounts and Annual Report should be sent atleast 3 days before the day of A.G.M. at the Administrative office c/o Shri Brijesh Cholera, Shop No.4,2nd Floor,The Mall, station Road, Malad (W),Mumbai-400064

THE 41ST ANNUAL REPORT OF THE MANAGING COMMITTEE FOR THE YEAR 2019-2020
(From 14th July 2019 to 5th July 2020)
We are pleased to present in your hands 41STAnnual Report of the Managing Committee of The Malad Chamber of Tax Consultants, for the period commencing from 14th July 2019 and ending on 5th July 2020 together with the Audited Accounts for the financial year 2019-20.
Shri Viresh B. Shah was elected unanimously as the President of the Chamber along with 12 members of the Managing Committee at 41ST Annual General Meeting held on 14th July, 2019. The Committee under the able leadership of the President, duly supported by Immediate Past President CA. Vaibhav D. Seth, along with past presidents Shri Sachin Gandhi and CA Jayprakash Tiwari and Co-opted members : Shri Janak D. Rawal, Shri Yatin Rangwala, Shri Manish Chokshi, Shri Kishor Vanjara, Shri Janak K. Vaghani
The details of various activities carried out during the year are reported here under in brief:–
1. MANAGING COMMITTEE: Shri J.D. Rawal, Election Officer, declared Shri Viresh B. Shah, elected uncontested, as
President of the Chamber and Shri Ramesh Gandhi, Election officer, announced names of 12 members of the Managing Committee elected unanimously for the year 2019-2020 at the 40th AGM held on 14th July, 2019.
2. OFFICE BEARERS: Following members were elected unanimously as the office bearers of the Chamber, at
the First Meeting of the Managing Committee held on 20th July, 2019:-

4. APPOINTMENT OF SUB-COMMITTEES: At the said first meeting of the Managing Committee, various sub-committees were formed
and appointed Chairman for each committee. The details of sub-committees are annexed here with in Annexure–I.
5. MEETING OF THE MANAGING COMMITTEE: Total 6 meetings of the Managing Committee were held which were attended by members
and past chairman/president as invitees. All decisions were taken unanimously and in a friendly atmosphere and the members including invitees participated actively.
The details of the attendance of the members at the Managing Committee meetings held during the year are given in Annexure-I.
6. LIFE MEMBERSHIP: The membership of the Chamber was 1044 in the last year. After admitting 68 new
members, total membership as on the date of report is 1111.
The names of new members are given in Annexure – III.
7. FINANCIAL RESULTS: As per the Income and Expenditure Account the surplus for the year is at ` 3,57,564/-
After transfer of surplus of the RJ Chokshi Oration Fund Seminar to the RJ Chokshi Oration Fund at ` 4,284 and deficit of the Saraswati Sanman Samaroh to Saraswati Sanman Samaroh Fund at ` 12,993 and the surplus of ` 1,20,406 from Budget Meeting 2020, the balance Surplus of ` 2,26,608/- is carried forward in the Balance Sheet.
8. STUDY CIRCLE MEETINGS: Study circle meetings provided useful knowledge to the members on subject of taxation,
accounts, auditing etc. This year total 18 study circle meetings were organized on Direct / Indirect Tax, and other professional subjects. The details of study circle meetings are annexed in Annexure –IV.

9. 1st Study Circle Meeting The first study circle was held on 3rd August 2019. The topic of the study circle was
GSTR Annual Return GSTR 9. Speakers CA Ashit Shah, Adv. Nikita Badheka ensured that the study circle was a great success. 125 participants attended the study circle meeting
10. 2nd Study Circle Meeting The second study circle was conducted on Monday, 12th August 2019 on the topic,
“Tips and Tricks in Tally ERP 9 and Using Tally ERP 9 for GST Reporting” at NL College. The eminent speaker CA Vandana Dodhia provided valuable insights. The meeting was attended by almost 100 participants.
11. 3rd Study Circle Meeting The third study circle was conducted on Sunday, 1st September 2019 on the topic,
“Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Tax Audit” at NL College. Speakers CA Ketan Vajani and Nitin Bhuta made the study circle meeting immensely successful. The meeting was attended by fifty participants.
12. 4th Study Circle Meeting The fourth study circle was conducted on Sunday, 6th October 2019 at Surajba Hall,
SNDT college. The topic of the meeting was “Transfer Pricing Audit” by CA Ujwal Thakrar and “E-assessment under Income Tax act” by Adv Neelknanth Khandelval. The very interesting topics and the eminent and insightful speakers ensured that the meeting was interactive and successful.
13. 5th Study Circle Meeting The fifth study circle was held on Tuesday, 12th November 2019 at Prabhodhankar
Thackeray Hall. Speaker CA Janak Vaghani conducted two sessions. The first one on “Tips, Tricks and Practical Solutions for Filing Form 9 & Form 9C” whereas the second one was a Question and Answer session. CA Janak Vaghani, being a stalwart in his field provided his valuable insights to the 210 attendees.
14. 6th Study Circle Meeting The sixth study circle was held on Sunday, 19th January 2020 on the topic, “Investing
and Trading successfully in Stock Market, Stock Market – Present and Future” at A V hall, SNDT college by CA Manish Choksi and Nirvish Choksi. 77 participants attended the study circle meeting.
15. 7th Study Circle Meeting The seventh study circle was conducted on Saturday, 4th April 2020 on the topic, “Vivad
se Vishvas Scheme” as a webinar on the zoom app by CA Khyati Vasani, Dr Bharat Vasani, CA Reema Shah. The meeting received highly positive feedback from the 91 participants attending the meeting.
16. 8th Study Circle Meeting The eighth study circle was held on Friday,10 April 2020 on the topic, “Immediate Relief
under GST and Company fresh start scheme.” as a webinar on the zoom app by Adv.

Monarch Bhatt and CA Awinas Rawani. As high as 160 participants attended the webinar conducted.
17. 9th Study Circle Meeting The ninth study circle was conducted on Wednesday 29th April 2020 on the topic,
“Disclosure Requirement under GST Audit GSTR 9C FY 2018- 19” in the form of webinar on the zoom app by CA Ashit Shah. 195 participants attended the study circle meeting.
18. 10th Study Circle Meeting The tenth study circle was conducted on Saturday 02nd May 2020 on the topic, “Current
Practical issues on GST- Technical and Legal.” as a webinar on the zoom by CA Janak Vaghani and CA Nitin Bhuta. Immense feedback was received by the 198 participants.
19. 11th Study Circle Meeting The eleventh study circle was conducted on Saturday 09th’ May 2020 on the topic,
“Current Stock market Strategy.” As a webinar on the zoom app by CA Manish Choksi.
20. 12th Study Circle Meeting The twelfth study circle was held on Tuesday, 12th May on the topic, “ Form GSTR 9
2018-19.” as a webinar on the zoom app by CA Manish Gadia.
21. 13th Study circle Meeting The thirteenth study circle was conducted on Saturday, 16th May on the topic, “Practical
issues under COVID under Income tax.” as a webinar on the zoom app by CA Atul Ruparelia and Adv Ajay Singh. The webinar was attended by 203 participants.
22. 14th Study circle Meeting The fourteenth study circle was conducted on Saturday, 23rd May 2020 on the topic, “NRI
Taxation” webinar on the zoom app by CA Natwar Thakrar. 226 participants attended the webinar and provided highly positive feedback.
23. 15th Study circle Meeting The fifteenth study circle was held on Thursday, 28th May 2020 on the topic, “Offline or
Online: Compulsion or by Choice" webinar on the zoom app by CA Ankit Sanghavi. The 118 participants who attended the webinar found it to be extremely relevant and useful.
24. 16th Study circle Meeting The sixteenth study circle was held on Sunday, 07th June 2020 on the topic, “MS Excel
– Advanced Formulae and Data Analysis" webinar on the zoom app by CA Vivek Gupta. 210 participants attended the webinar and there are more than 801 views on Youtube.
25. 17th Study Circle Meeting The seventeenth study circle meeting is to be conducted on Thursday, 18th June 2020,
on the topic, “Caveats & Cautions in COVID 19 Scenario and Common Errors in Auditing” by CA Yagnesh Desai.

26. 18th Study Circle Meeting The eighteenth study circle meeting is to be held on Saturday, 20th June 2020 on the
topic, “Negative is the new Positive”. The webinar is to be conducted by Business coach, Mr. Jigar Shah.
27. 14th Dr. BHARAT D VASANI SARASWATI SANMAN SAMARAMBH AND DIWALI GET TOGETHER
Diwali Get Together was organized on Sunday, 1st December,2019, at N. K. college followed by The “14th Saraswati Sanman Samarambh” to felicitate children of our members securing more than 75% marks in SSC, HSC, Graduation and achieving outstanding performance at the other exams like B.Com, BDS, B.E., B. TECH, CA, CS, etc. Students were felicitated with “Dr. Bharat D. Vasani Saraswati Sanman Trophy”, which was attended by members with their family. Total 13 students were felicitated. (List of Students is annexed in Annexure-V.).
Following the event, an inspirational lecture was conducted by CA Jigar Shah. The speech delivered by the eminent speaker motivated and moved every individual attending the event.
28. WORKSHOP ON GST LAW" – ORGANISED BY MCTC JOINTLY WITH AIFTP (WZ), BCAS, CTC, GSTPAM & WIRC of ICAI FOR THE YEAR 2019-2020
"Workshop on GST Law" jointly AIFTP (WZ), BCAS, CTC, GSTPAM & WIRC of ICAI to be held from 15th January 2020 to 11th March 2020. The object of Workshop is to share the essence of professional experience and expertise of the faculties which they have gained over the years. All workshop sessions will be held at 1st Floor, GSTPAM Library, GST Bhavan, Room No. 104, Mazgaon, Mumbai-10. The Scheduled List containing the dates, topics, and names of faculties is attached herewith in Annexure-VIII.
24. Half Day Seminar organized under the auspices Shri Rajubhai Choksi Oration Fund This year Malad Chamber of Tax Consultants had organized Study Circle on Practical
Issues in GST with special emphasis to Rule 36(4) and section 50(1) & Discussion on Vivad se Vishwas scheme 2020 during the year in the month of March 2020 successfully at Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies, SV Road, Malad West. The speakers, CA Aditya Surte and Advocate Ajay Singh ensured that seminar was a huge success with around 115 attendees to cater to.
The details are annexed in Annexure VI.
25. MALAD CHAMBER OF TAX CONSULTANTS BULLETIN: The bulletin of our Chamber is published regularly on 20th and 21st of every month. We
are very much thankful to our contributors to the Bulletin CA Haresh Kenia, CA Bhavin Mehta and CA Rupal Shah for compiling the updates for us and taking keen interest in the activity of the Chamber. We are also grateful to Harsh Joshi, Neel Randeria and other student contributors for their articles and their active participation. We also would like to thank Shri Kishor Vanjara - Editor and Shri Brijesh Cholera – Associate Editor for playing very efficient editorial roles for Bulletin

28. 16th RESIDENTIAL REFRESHER COURSE: The 16th RRC of The MCTC to be held at Sunny’s World in Pune was cancelled because
of the COVID 19 pandemic in order to ensure safety and security of the members of MCTC.
29. LAW AND REPRESENTATION: This year the Chamber on behalf of all the members and in the larger interest of public
made various representations to the Finance Minister i.e. the Ministry of Finance, Income tax Department and the GST council for addressing issues such as extension of due dates for Tax audit, Filing of GSTR 9 and 9C and for implementation of Vivad se Vishvas Scheme.

30. BUDGET MEETING ON MONDAY, 04th FEBRUARY 2020: The Public Meeting on Union Budget 2020 will be organized jointly with Goregaon Sports
Club on Monday, 04TH February 2020, at 5.30 p.m. at Goregaon Sports Club, Link Road, Malad (West), Mumbai- 400064. This proposed meeting will be attended by members of both association, prominent professionals and general public at large. The details are annexed in Annexure - VII.
31. BUDGET PUBLICATION: The Chamber will also becoming out with its consecutive 21st publication on Direct and
Indirect Tax budget proposals, An Analytical Study on Finance Bill-2020. This is a unique publication of which the Chamber publishes within 48 hours of announcement of budget proposals by the Finance Minister. The publication shall be unique as it shall contains existing provisions, proposed amendments and its impact in very lucid, comparative and exhaustive manner. A noteworthy achievement for the MCTC was that it was the first time in the history of MCTC, all the books were sold in less than 24 hours of their publication.
32. OTHER MATTERS: Keeping with past tradition, this year also the Managing Committee Meetings and sub-
committee meetings were held at our Registered office, Fulfills Restaurant and through the ZOOM app
