President’s Report Noah’s has had another successful and sustainable year recording a profit of $75,861 for the year. All members of Noah’s would be aware that it has been a year of changes with preparations for the transition to the NDIS occurring throughout the 2016-17 year. However, during the transition period, we have managed growth in membership and services for children, young people and their families which has been a pleasing result to the Board. I would also like to thank Noah’s dedicated Board Members who have provided not only great input but active support for Noah’s. In particular, in my succession as treasurer, I would like to thank Lee Hopperton who has brought not only experience but a high level of expertise to the treasurer role. The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank our outstanding CEO and the staff team for a wonderful year. We look forward to everyone’s continued support of our membership and stakeholders in the coming year. Colin Waller President

CEO’s Report It has been another successful, busy and rewarding year for Noah’s Inclusion Services. Some of our achievements over 2016-17 include the writing and adopting of our next Strategic Plan (2017-2010), rebranding our logo and name and completing our accreditation. Much of our focus during 2016-17 has been preparing for the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which rolled out on July 1

st 2017 in the Shoalhaven and Illawarra. Noah’s has continued to be informed and committed in

assisting local families to access the NDIS. Noah’s was appointed as an Early Childhood Early Intervention Transition Partner which meant training a number of staff to work with families to assist with the NDIS transition. Over the year, our continued focus on change management has enabled our staff to implement new processes well and in turn, support families during this transition phase. As of June 2017, Noah’s has provided support to 800 children or teenagers and employs 65 staff. Noah’s has continued to grow to meet the needs of families and the community. Mundamia Early Learning Centre continues to grow and is embedding excellent inclusive philosophies in early childhood education and care. One of the highlights of the year was the development of our Strategic Plan for 2017-2020. Developing this document was a wonderful process and was built on input from families, staff and the Board. The plan defines our Vision, Values and Purpose, as well as our four key areas of focus - Our Team, Our Community, Our Services and Our Sustainability. Following our excellent rating for Mundamia, we also undertook our Third Party Verification in May 2017. This is a thorough audit of all of our systems, programs, processes and compliance with the disability standards. Noah’s achieved 100% compliance in this process which is a credit to all staff and Board members. Our program for young people between the ages of 9-18 years has been a great addition to Noah’s services. The Self-Advocacy Course was a very successful pilot program that gave teenagers living with a disability an opportunity to meet other people their age and discuss some of the challenges they face, develop skills in making choices and advocating for themselves and create a vision about their future. The partnership with the University of Wollongong has continued to provide us with opportunities to research and develop programs to meet the needs of families. The pilot of the Parent Room was very successful and has extended throughout the year with over 50 parents accessing this program. Noah’s could not do all that we do without the very generous support of so many people in our community. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, carers, Kids Supporters, volunteers, local businesses, Local Council and 816 Squadron have all contributed to our organisation. We would also like to thank our sponsors and supporters, local members of parliament who are our patrons – Ms. Anne Sudmalis, Mr. Gareth Ward and Ms. Shelly Hancock as well as the Mayor of Shoalhaven City Council, Cr Amanda Findley. We would also like to make special mention of the incredible fundraising efforts of Mary Evans in organising and running our biggest fundraiser, the Noah’s Race Day and Slingsby Holdings for their continued generous support of this event. As we move to the roll out of the NDIS in the Shoalhaven and Illawarra, we look forward to an exciting and challenging year ahead and feel we are in a good position to continue to provide excellent services and support to children and families in our local communities. Making a difference by becoming a Kids Supporter …

The Kids Supporter program seeks individuals or organisations to sponsor a program at Noah’s Shoalhaven by making regular monthly donations

of $25 or more which we direct debit out of your bank account.

In return a newsletter is sent on a quarterly basis with updates on Noah’s Inclusion Services activities and programs as well as stories

about local families..

By becoming a Kids Supporter you will help reduce our waiting list so we can help as many children as possible.

Families will also be able to receive the best information they need to help give their kids the best

start possible.
