Dear Heads of the Departments, Faculty Members, Non-teaching fraternity,
beloved students, dear parents, other special invitees and well wishers. I take
pleasure to present the Annual Report of our College for the academic year 2015-
2016.
“Right Faith, Right Knowledge, Right Conduct in mind” is the motto with
which we give education and empowerment to the rural girl students in and around
Vaniyambadi and impart value education to excel in their life.
But for the support of our dedicated and generous management, it is
impossible for us to attain our mission and our management ceaselessly encourages
and motivates each one of us towards the goal of taking the institution to greater
heights.

STAFF PROFILE:
The staff strength of our college is 132 teaching staff including 7 guest
faculties and 35 non-teaching staff. A good number of faculties have passed
NET/SET examination. 72 faculty members are with M.Phil, and 6 staff members
are pursuing Ph.D.
Ms. B. Ramya of English Department and Ms. R. Usharani of Nutrition
and Dietetics Department were awarded Ph.D in the year 2015-2016.
ACADEMIC ACHEIVEMENTS:
I wish to state that our staff have participated and presented papers in
National and State Level conferences as well as published articles. I wish to record
my appreciation to the staff for their academic distinction.
STUDENT ACHEIVEMENT:
Students are inspired and motivated to participate in out-reach
academic and co-curricular activities. Our students of English, Computer Science,
Computer Application, Maths, Business Administration, Nutrition and Dietetics,
Commerce, Commerce (CA),Interior Design and Décor, Biochemistry,
Biotechnology, Physics have participated and won prizes in various Inter-
Collegiate competitions held at Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi; Abdul Hakeem
College;Melvisharam; Sacred Heart College, Thirupattur; Gonzaga College
,Krishnagiri; Don Bosco College,Yelagiri; S.F.S Vaniyambadi; Auxillium College,
Vellore; K.M.G College, Gudiyattam and presented papers in National, State
Level Seminars and Conferences at Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi; K.M.G
College, Gudiyattam; Sacred Heart College, Thirupattur; V.I.T University and
M.G.R. College, Hosur. Commerce Department Students Won Overall
Championship Award in the Inter-Collegiate Competition conducted by Islamiah
Women’s and Don Bosco College on 12th September 2015 and 18th February 2016.
BBA Students Won Overall Trophy on Shape conducted by Sacred Heart College
on 10th February 2016.
INTERNAL QUALITY AND ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC) & ISO:
IQAC of our college is constantly monitoring the faculty and academic
enrichment activities to improve the standards of teaching and learning in our
college. Internal Quality Assurance Cell and ICT have organized a Faculty
Development Programme on “Emotional Intelligence”, on 15th and 16th October
2015. Our Institution has submitted for academic audit to BSI ON 27th November
2015 for 3rd term and continuous assessment visit and continuous to be awarded
ISO 9001:2008 certificates for maintenance of quality in our College.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:
I would like to highlight the activities of the clubs and departments and
record my appreciation to the various office bearers of departments and clubs for
their contributions.
Department of Tamil, Tamil Mandram was inaugurated on 15th
September 2015.The Resource person was Dr.K.ParthibaRaja,
Head,Research Department, Sacred Heart College(Autonomous),Tirupattur.
Ms.D.Maheshwari and Ms.D.Indra Kumari Assistant Professors,
Presented paper at Krishna Arts and Science Collge,K.S.G. College and
Islamiah Women’s College.
PG and Research Department of English & Literary and Theatre Club
conducted a Special Meeting on “Learning English for Fun” on 10th August
2015. The Resource Person was Dr.V.Sunitha, Assistant Professor, Srinivasa
Institute of Management and Studies, Chitoor, The Department conducted
“Literary Fest” an Inter- Collegiate competition on 25th February 2016. The
resource person was Ms.I.Angeline Nirmala, Assistant Professor
Muthurangam Arts and Science College, Vellore. Readers Club has
organized a special Meeting on “Reading Enhances our Life” on 22nd
January 2016. The Resource person was Dr.J.Premalatha Assistant
Professor, Department of Tamil, Government Arts College Salem; Readers
Club conducted Book Faire from 22nd January 2016 to 25th January 2016.
Ms. S.Hema Malini, Assistant Professor, Department of English published
paper in International conference and National Level Seminar and
Ms.T.Bommi,Ms.S.Sharmila, Ms.M.Rajeshwari published paper in
National Level Seminar at Annamalai University,Annamalainagar on 3rd and
4th March 2016 and V.H.N.S.N Colloege,Virudhanagar on 18th and 19th
December 2015.
PG and Research Department of Mathematics conducted intercollegiate
on 30th September 2015.The Department Organized National Level Seminar
on “Modern Techniques in Mathematical Sciences” on 24th February
2016.The resource persons were Dr.G.Thangaraj,Professor and Head,
Department of Mathematics, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. Dr.Padmaja
Venugopal, Head, Department of Mathematics. S.J.B. Institute of
Technology, Bangalore and Dr.m.Pitchaimani,Assistant Professor,
Department of Mathematics, Ramanujan Institute for advanced study in
Mathematics, University of Madras, Chennai.
PG Department of Physics conducted Inter-Department competition on
“TECH SPARK” on 31st June 2015.The Department Organised National
Level Seminar on “Advanced Materials” on 20th February 2016. The
resource persons were Dr.C.K.Jaya Sankar,Professor, Department of
Physics, S.V. University Tirupathy. Dr.S. Rajesh.Professor, department of
Physics , Karunya University, Coimbatore and Dr.L. Guru Prasad, Assistant
Professor, Department of Physics,Kumaraswamy Colloege of Engineering,
Karur..
PG and Research Department of Computer Science and Computer
Application organized a workshop on “Android” on 12th January 2016. The
resource people were HCL people. The department conducted Inter-College
competition on “COMTECH” ON 29th January 2016. Ms.D.Jasmine
Priskilla, Head, Department of Computer Science and Ms.G.Shobarani,
Head, department of Computer Application, Ms.M.Prithi,Assistant
Professor, presented and published a paper in National and International
Journals..
PG and Research Department of Biochemistry, Department of
Biotechnology and Department of Nutrition, Food service management
and Dietetics conducted a National Level Seminar on “Clinical Disorders
and Monoclonal Antibodies” on 1st October 2015.The resource persons were
Dr.M.Rasool,and Mr.P.Annamalai and Mr.Abhay
Potnis,Dr.Deivasigamani Revathi.
PG and Research Department of Biochemistry conducted a special
meeting on “Modelling in Science” on 25th September 2015. The Resource
person was Dr.P.K.Mohamed Imran,Associates Professor,Department of
Chemistry,Islamiah college (Autonomous),Vaniyambadi. Miss.M.Ayesha
Sabeen,HOD of Biochemistry, published an article and presented a paper in
National Seminar at Islamiah College on 26th December 2015.
PG Department of Biotechnology conducted Seminars on “Cytogenetics
in Cancer” on 21st August 2015. The Resource person was
Mr.S.Ramesh,Scientific Assistant,Cancer Institute, Chennai and “Role of
Bioinformatics in Biotechnology”. The Resource person was Dr. T.S.
Gnanendra, Assistant Professor,Mahendra College of Arts and
Science,Tiruchengode. The Departmant visited “Biocon” Bangalore,
International Institute of Biotechnology and Toxicology, Kanchipuram and
Biotech R & D Lab,Yercaud on 11th August and 4th September 2015 and
27th February 2016.
Department of Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics
organized National Nutrition week on “Nutri On” from September 1st to 7th
September 2015. Inter-Collegiate and Inter-Department Competition was
conducted on September 2nd and 3rd 2015. The Department Conduced
awareness programme on “Eat well to stay well” on 14th September 2015.
The resource persons were Ms.Mahendri Narayana, Head Department of
Nutrition and Dietetics, CMC Vellore. The Nutrition Department visited
Central Food Technology Research Institute, Mysore on 4th March 2016.
Dr.Usharani, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition, Food service
Management and Dietetics published article in Deccan Chronicle on 21st
January 2016.
PG and Department of Commerce and Commerce CA organized soft
Skill Training Programme on 25th September 2015.The resource persons was
Dr.S.Sagayaraj, Head, Department of Commerce and BBA, Govt.
Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam. The Department conducted a
Special Meeting on “An Awareness on Recent Trends in Banking System”
on 16th February 2016. The resource person was Mr. Ravichandar, Chief
Manager, State Bank of India, Chennai. The Department Conducted a
National Level Seminar “Convergence of Internet and Commerce” in the
Modern era on 26th February 2016. The resource persons were Mr.Pratap
Hegde, Managing Director and CEO, Telematics 4u Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.
Professor G. Purandaran, Director, BATS B-School, Bangalore and
Professor Dr.G. Ganesan, Head, Department of Commerce, Bharathiyar
University, Coimbatore. Ms. M. Ashtalakshmi, Head, Department of
Commerce, Ms.B. Vasanthi, Ms. S.Gomathi, Ms. N. Karpagam,
Ms.M.Usha, Ms.B.Chitra, Ms.S.Suganya, Ms.M.Sasikala published paper
in International Conference organized by Periyar Institute of Managament
Studies, Periyar University, Salem, on 27th and 28th January 2016.
Ms.N.Karpagam, Ms.M.Usha and Ms.S.Suganya published paper in
National Level Seminar organized byV.H.N.S.C, Virudhanagar on 18th and
19th December 2015.
Department of Interior Design and Decor and Nutrition, Food service
Management and Dietetics conducted Inter class Competition and Food
Festive and Interior Dizz’art on 30th January 2016, under the banner of
Women Entrepreneurship and Development Cell. The Chief Guest were
Shri. Vimal Kumar.J and Ms. A. Priyanka Sanghvi.
Department of Business Administration has conducted International
Conference on “Prolific Management Crafts for Global Eminence” on 13th
August 2015. The resource persons were Prof. Dr.J.Paul Sundar
Kirubakaran, Department of Business Administration, College of Applied
Sciences NIZWA, Ministry of Higher Education NIZWA, Sulthanate of
OMAN and Dr.K.Sendhil Kumar, Assistant Professor, College of Business
and Economics, Adigrat University Ethiopia. The following staff members

Department conducted inter-collegeate competition “B-BLAZE” ON 28th
January 2016. The Resource person was Mr.P.Rama Subramaniyam,
Manager,UPL pvt.Ltd., Ranipet. Ms.G.Deepalakshmi, Head, Department of
BBA, Ms.A.Athyiyaveni, Ms.S.Aruna and Ms.K.S.Banu Priya, published
paper in National Level Journal.
Department of Urdu conducted Inter Department competition. Ms.
M.Tazeen Jamal, Assistant professor, Department of Urdu presented paper
in National Level Seminar at S.I.E.T. College Chennai and Islamiah College,
Vaniyambadi.
SPORTS AND GAMES:
Department of Physical Education trains the students in all sports
activities and Twenty First Annual Sports Day was celebrated on 17th February
2016. The Chief Guests were Dr.K.Vaithianathan. Director, Directorate of
Sports, SRM University Chennai and Ms.T.Reeth Rishya, Junior World
Champion,Table Tennis Assistant Officer, HR Deprtment, Indian Oil,Chennai
as Special Guest. In Inter-Collegiate games our College was winner in Shuttle,
Table Tennis, Hockey and Cricket and Runner in Kabadi and Ball-Badminton.
In Inter Division, students secured second place in table tennis, shuttle, cricket,
Basket ball and Ball Batminton. Eight of our students were selected to play for
the Thiruvalluvar University, Ms.S.Yoga Priya, Assistant Professor;
Department of Physical Education represented Thiruvalluvar University team
manager for South Zone Inter University Volley ball match held at SRM
University, Chennai, on 30th September 2015 to 10thOctober 2015.
CLUB ACTIVITIES:
College Union and Fine Arts & Cultural activities were inaugurated on
4th July 2015 by Dr.Freda Gnanaselvam, Principal, MMES Women’s
Arts and Science College, Melvisharam. College Union celebrated
Independence Day on 15th August 2015 and Republic Day on 26th
January 2016. Also organized Teachers Day and Pongal Celebration on
4th September 2015 and 13th January 2016. College Union and Fine Arts
Club conducted an Inter-Department cultural events on 16th September
2015. College Union and Fine Arts Club conducted an intercollegiate
competition ARTSMART on 13th February 2016. Mr. Ma Ka Pa
Anand, Radio Jockey, Film artist was the chief guest.
, The Red Ribbon Club and Youth Welfare Club conducted
Helmet Awareness programme on 29th June 2015. YRC and RRC
were inaugurated and conducted Cancer and Organ Donation
Awareness programme on 23th September 2015. Voting Day
Awareness programme was conducted on 22 nd January 2016 and the
Resource Person was Mrs. BakkiyaLakshmi, Thasildhar,
Vaniyambadi. Flood Awareness Programme was conducted on 4th
february 2016 under the supervision of Shri. Pyuush Manush.
Rotract Club organized Installation and Project on Women
Empowerment on 19th August 2015. The Resource Persons were Rtn.
Mythili Muralidharan, Director, Women Empowerment 2015-16 and
Rtn.R .Manivannan, Additional Director, Women Empowerment, City
Plus 2015-16. Our college was awarded “Pioneers of Women
Empowerment Award” from Rotary Club, on 24th february 2016.
Karuna club has telecast film titled “Kutti” on 18th September 2015.
The club conducted “Parents Worship Day” on 12th February 2016.
Eco Club and Science Club conducted a Special programme on
“Modelling in Science” on 25th September 2015. The Resource Person
was Dr. P. K. Mohamed Imran, Associate Professor, Department of
Chemistry, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi.
Philately Club conducted an Awareness Programme of postal sevices
on 23rd January 2016. The Resource Persons were Mr.N.Karthikeyan,
Superintendent of Post Office, Tirupattur and Mr.V.A.Arunkumar,
Inspector post, Vaniyambadi.
NSS has conducted Awareness Programme on “Human Organ
Donation” and “Dengue Fever” on 23rd September 2015 and 28th
September 2015.A special Programme was conducted on “national Blood
Donation Day” on 8th October 2015. On 22nd January 2016 Human chain
was formed for creating awareness for “Right to Vote”. NSS also
conducted awareness on Road Accident. Dengue and Addiction to
Alcohol and Tree Plantation on 23rd January 2016 and 4th February 2016.
On 25th January 2016, National Voters pledge was taken.
Consumer Club organized a special meeting on 5th March 2016 on
“Consumer Awareness”. The resource person was Mr.T.Basheeruddin ,
State Level Member, Tamil Nadu State Consumer Protection Council.
Alumni Club organized a meeting on 12th January 2016 and discussed
about the Placement and Courses offered by the University of Mother
Teresa , Directorate of Distance education. The resource person was Mr.
M. Sathyamoorthy, Manager, HCL.
Placement and Career guidance Cell trains the students to feel confident
,to be Expressive and hone their special skills. The cell has conducted a
special meeting on 22nd July 2015. The Chief Guest was Mr. Sridhar, CEO,
Indian Health Care BPO, Chennai. The Career Guidance has conducted a
Group Discussion and Personal Interview on 1st September 2015. The Cell
has conducted Google Workshop on 2ndSeptember 2015. The resource
person was Mr. Hariharan, Chennai. The Placement Cell organized many
On-campus and Off-campus Interview. Off-Campus interview conducted in
VIT University. 3 students selected in WIPRO, 2 students in CSC, 7
students in Infosys, 29 students in ICE Foundations, 2 students in Vijay
Millineum and 1 student in Godrej.
COLLEGE INFRASTRUCTURE:
Spacious, gallery type, class rooms with good ventilation are
provided. Projector facilities for Power Point Presentations are also
provided in the class rooms. Interactive smart board is implemented
in the Seminar Halls.
There are two fully air conditioned seminarorium with the capacity of
600 and 300 persons. A state of art, Audio Visual System are also
present.
New library hall with all the state of art infrastructure is under
construction.
Well- equipped science lab facilities for each science discipline.
The library has 21,000 books, 70 National and International Journals
and Magazines. The library provides AV, e-learning facilities through
Inflibnet, NPTEL and Edusat Channel programme. The library
introduced barcoding facilities for issue and return of books.
Internet facilities is provided in the college library as well as in
computer lab for all the students to access and update their
knowledge.
The college has gallery type athletic ground, play ground for Football,
Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Table Tennis and
Cricket.
The college has CCTV Camera, Wi-Fi and telephone intercom
facilities.
The college has 27 buses covering a radius of 70 kms. The buses are
operated from Ambur, Gudiyattam, Pernambut, Alangayam,
Vaniyambadi, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Mittur, Kandhili, Pochampalli,
Natrampalli and Venkatasamudram etc.
NEW COURSES:
Proposal had been submitted for starting M.Sc. Food Service
Management and Dietetics, M.Com(CA) and B.Sc. Physics additional
section for the Academic year 2016-17
This year the college has Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
With Mother Teresa Women University has a study centre offering
Certificates, Diploma, UG and PG Courses suitable for women,which are
job centered courses.
With TCS for conducting online examinations for Banking, Insurance
etc.,
With IIT Chennai for conducting All India Gate examination.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Management, for
providing us wonderful facilities as well as learning environment to our
students. The members of the management also help the economically
weaker and deserving students by paying their college fees to enable them to
successfully complete their course in our college.
The above account of academic achievements and activities of our
college not an end by itself and it is only a beginning of the serious
innovative and creative activities to be planned and executed in the life
journey to upgrade our college to carve a niche in higher education in the
map of India.
With the broad minded and service oriented managements, with
philanthropic attitude, untiring and committed team of faculty, with active
support service of office staff, updated infrastructure facilities, enthusiastic
students with thirst for knowledge, well-organized atmosphere and above all
with the blessings of God, the Institution assures to reach the new heights
and make the Institution a Centre of Excellence in Higher Education and
Research in the days to come.
