Electrical Engineering with three major areas of specializations (Electronic, Computer Systems, and Power) for Intake of Batch-2010 onwards. Intake is restricted to 120 per year (40 per section). Students may be admitted in Electrical Engineering program with an option to select their specialization after completion of two years. Therefore, separate induction of students for electronics program should be stopped and merged into new nomenclature. Department should be renamed as the Department of Electrical Engineering". The intake shall be restricted and maintained to 120 students per year, otherwise the request for re-accreditation will not be considered. 20. Ziauddin Medical University, Karachi

Program B.E.Bio-Medical Accreditation is deferred at this stage due to serious deficiencies/weak areas. A confirmatory visit will be conducted within six months time to check the strict compliance on the following:- a. Appointment of atleast three (03)

experienced qualified postgraduate and one PhD qualified faculty members (relevant to Bio-Medical core areas).

b. Availability of adequate/enough infrastructures for the institute.

c. Remedial/repetition of following courses to the batches 2010 and 2011 without charging any expense from the students and followed by a remedial examination:-

creating R&D culture which is lacking.

2. Revision of curriculum is required as per the reported observations in line with PEC/HEC guidelines.

The university is again advised to switch over its programs from term system to semester system as the same had been repeatedly advised by PEC in previous visits. 28. National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad - Institute of Geographical Information Systems, Islamabad

Program B.E. Geoinformatics Accreditation is granted for one year i.e., Intake of Batch 2010 only. The institute is advised to increase engineering faculty in the relevant field. GIS lab equipment is missing which should be improved. The institute should address all other weak areas/observations as mentioned in the visit report.
