OCTOBER 12/13, 2019 - TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Our Thanks To Thee

Our thanks to Thee, O God most high, Glad hearts will ever sing

With spirits lifted to the sky Our Thanks to Thee we bring.

Thou who didst send Thine only Son That fallen man might live,

To Thee Thy children through His blood Their lives and service give.

Thou freely sendest sun and rain, The golden crops bless,

And givest fields of wavering grain - How could we praise Thee less!

The fruit , the birds, the trees, the sky Are granted by Thy hand.

Thy blessings are so bountiful Like as the ocean’s sand.

We thank Thee for Thy grace and love On sinful men bestowed,

For promise of that home above When ends life’s weary road.

We thank Thee for Thy matchless care, So marvelous and free -

What wondrous glory when we share Eternity with Thee!

- D. Bruce Lockerbie

ST. TERESA OF AVILA FEAST DAY OCT. 15

I have often thought with wonder of the great goodness of God; and my soul has rejoiced in contemplation of His great magnificence and mercy. May He be blessed for ever! For I see clearly that He has not omitted to reward me, even in this life, for every one of my good desires. -St. Teresa

HAPPY FEAST TO ALL CARMELITES. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

YOUTH GROUP

Hello youth of St. Thomas More. Welcome to another year of activities and fun. Our youth group consists of youth from grade 7 and up. We meet the first 4 Fridays of the month. Week 1 is core team, week 2 is spiritual boost, week 3 is sportsplex and week 4 is games night. We need you to register so we can con-tact you with upcoming events. Even if you registered last year, we need new forms to keep information up to date. Forms can be found on the counter by the Sacramental Bulletin Board, as well as a box to drop off the form. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

MINISTRY CO-ORDINATORS PLEASE TAKE NOTE

As you have a key to the Church for your meetings &/or functions. Please remember that it is your responsibility to open and close the building for security. When your group has gathered and has been wel-comed, please lock all church entrance doors and if you are in the base-ment, please lock the entrance to the foyer from the basement stairs. Many people who have no reason to be at the Church are finding their way in and this is becoming a problem keeping our Church safe and secure.

All parishioners need to be diligent on keeping our Church secure.

Thank you for your co-operation!________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Register with St. Thomas More

Why Register in the Parish? Registering with a parish is your declaration of your desire to be part of a Catho-lic Community and a commitment to the life of the par-ish family. When you register, you are clearly stating your Catholic Commitment in all its dimensions and this can bring you advantages, recognition, and responsibili-ties of many kinds. For example, being a registered pa-rishioner makes things much easier if it is time for a sac-rament, be it a wedding, a baptism, First Holy Com-munion, Reconciliation, Confirmation or even a funeral. In addition, we are often asked to provide affidavits for baptismal and confirmation sponsors, for school regis-tration, or for teachers looking for new positions. We can only do this if a person is registered, active and a contributing member of the parish. If you attend Mass at St. Thomas More but are not yet registered, please consider doing so. Parish registration forms can be found at the back of the church, on the table by the file cabinet, or at the Parish Office during office hours.

If you wish to have a box of Offertory Envelopes, please fill out the appropriate request sheet or call the Parish Office at 403-285-3773.
