In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I had to make my video appealing, so I had to look at other artists with videos in the same music genre. For example, London grammar or The XX. My plan was to follow these conventions , but I still wanted to challenge them to make my video more interesting and unique.

I looked at videos by Rihanna, M83 and London Grammar and Marina to see the kind of style I wanted. They all use beautiful images which give feelings to the viewer, more than telling a story. This is what I wanted to do.

I also wanted to make my video mysterious too, so this is a way that I was challenging conventions

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The software I decided to use was Adobe Photoshop, simply because as a Photography students my job was to be able to use these kind of programmes, which comes quite easily, therefore it was the only option to make good posters and CD Covers.I wanted all the products To have the same look.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Overall, I am pleased with the feedback I have got from the group of people within our target audience who I showed my video to, as most of the comments were all really positive. I feel that by getting feedback on my music video, I have learned a great deal about how to make videos in the future.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages?

I used Youtube a lot in planning. I used Photoshop to create my poster and digipak. I think that using these technologies helped a lot in the creative process. Without them I would not know how to make my video and would not have been able to create it to a high standard.
