Dr. U. Sreedhar, Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Crop Protection, has been

University, Navsari, Gujarat. The award in the form of a memento and citation has
been conferred on him in recognition of his Meritorious Contributions to the
Science of Entomology. He was honoured with the award by Dr. U. S. Sharma,
Vice Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agril. Tech., Udaipur & Dr. D. C.
Dangaria, Vice Chancellor, Navsari Agril. University, Navsari. Dr. Sreedhar
delivered a lead talk on Sustainable management of Insect Pests of tobacco on
this occasion.
Dr. U. Sreedhar, Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Crop Protection at Central Tobacco Research Institute, Rajahmundry has been conferred Distinguished Scientist Award of the Society of Plant Protection Sciences, New Delhi at the First International Conference on Climate Change and Adaptive Crop Protection for Sustainable Agri-horticulture Landscape on 20th December 2018 at National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer, Rajasthan. The award in the form of a memento and citation has been bestowed on him in recognition of his significant contributions in the field of Entomology. He was honoured with the award by Padmabhushan Dr. R. S. Paroda, Former DG, ICAR. Dr. Sreedhar delivered a lead talk on ecologically based insect pest management-A key pathway to sustainable tobacco production on this occasion.

outstanding extension work in the area of
diversification of agriculture towards socio
economic up-liftment of the grass root
level rural and tribal farmers and farm women.

has been honored with Dr. R. P. Srivastava
Memorial National Award (Gold Medal) for his
outstanding contributions in the field of
Entomology. The prestigious award was
presented on November 28, 2014 to Dr.
Sreedhar at Maharanapratap University of
Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan
during the recently held International Conference on “Changing Scenario of Pest
Problems in Agri-Horti Ecosystem and their Management” by Hon’ble Deputy
Director General (Horticultural Science), ICAR, Dr. N. K. Krishna Kumar, and Hon’ble
Vice Chancellor, MUAT, Udaipur Dr. O.P. Gill.
Dr. K. Sarala, Principal Scientist and Dr. H. Ravisankar,
Senior Scientist was given awards by the Society for
Educational and Scientific Research (SESR), a non-
profit organization formed with an objective of
promoting global growth of education and scientific
research in the field of Bioscience and related fields,
Kerala. Dr. K. Sarala, received the “Plant
Biotechnologist- 2014” award for her outstanding contribution in the field of plant
biotechnology.
Dr. H. Ravisankar received “Computational Biologiest-2014 award for his outstanding
contribution in the field of bioinformatics and computer science. The awards were
conferred on them during the International conference on Biosciences: State of the
Art-Advancements held by SESR at Kumarakom,
Kerala during 11-12 September, 2014. On receiving
the award, Dr. Ravisankar delivered an invited
lecture on “Role of computational biology in the
agriculture” and Dr Sarala talked on
“Accomplishments in tobacco crop improvement:
strategic usage of conventional and molecular tools”
at the conference.

the National Agri Award for his exceptional
contribution in enriching Agricultural practices and
outstanding contributions to Agricultural Research.
The award was presented by Hon'ble Union
Agriculture Minister Sri. Radha Mohan Singh and Hon'ble Union Rural Develop Minister
Sri. Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi on 27th August 2014.
