WHY IS FE ANIMAL SCIENCE IMPORTANT? The pet care industry is expanding as pets become more common.

Single households have increased, and often pets are the company of those who live alone.

Jobs can involve day care, training, boarding, selling supplies, animal feed, and grooming. There are jobs positions for dog walkers, physiotherapists, zoo keepers, animal welfare workers, animal wardens, animal handlers, and animal management technicians.

‘There are approximately 13,000 businesses and 78,000 people working in the animal care industry in the United Kingdom’ –Lantra

‘11.5% of establishments reported they had skills shortage vacancies’ -work based learning can combat this, producing skilled employees.
