Eleanor Dyson Student Support Officer (STIMulate) QUT Library Gardens Point Campus Queensland University of Technology 07 3138 9915 [email protected] To whom it may concern, I am the Student Support Officer for the QUT STIMulate program, and I directly supervise Andrew in his volunteer role as a Peer Learning Facilitator for Maths and Engineering units. Peer Learning Facilitators are individuals recruited for our peer facilitated support-for-learning program based on their academic results in key subject areas. Peer Learning Facilitators volunteer a number of hours a week for the STIMulate program to provide learning support to students at various levels of academic achievement. Andrew is task-driven, honest, and motivated. He is always aware of his limitations and is committed to helping students achieve their best possible learning outcomes. Andrew is considerate and deliberate in decision-making, and gives careful thought to his approach to new situations. He regularly challenges himself to develop new skills and confidence. His commitment to volunteering is evidence of his inherent altruism and selflessness. Through this role Andrew has developed his interpersonal and teamwork skills, and has undergone training in Intercultural Awareness and Communication. Andrew has consistently demonstrated his patience, capacity for empathy, and his dedication to the STIMulate program. Andrew is well liked within the STIMulate team, and frequently brings out the best in others by both challenging and supporting them to achieve. I would recommend Andrew for your work placement program because he is a driven individual who is engaged and committed to achieving his best. I am confident that Andrew would both benefit from and be an asset to your program. Kind regards, Eleanor Dyson
