T E E T A L K Our Special General Meeting scheduled for Saturday morning on June 20 started at 9:30 a.m. This was an im- portant meeting because it was the answer to the Board’s promise to lower dues if the March Membership drive was successful (and it certainly was). There were some members who would have preferred to leave the dues structure alone and build up our cash reserves. And there was a group who would have preferred to lower the dues by half of the Board’s proposal. Ultimately, the ma- jority preferred the 20+% reduction originally shown. In addition, the membership approved capital expendi- tures for new Tee signs, 10 additional golf carts, an ex- tension of the terrace with new furniture and a new Cushman cart. After the conclusion of the meeting there was a presentation showing what the members might wish the Country Club to be in future years. From thePresidentThis past monthhas seen changesin many areas. Some for thebest and others - well! Maybefor some a positive but maybenot for the clubs bottom line. Wehad our Special G.M and thedues reduction was passed somembers will see a credit intheir accounts next month. Thereduction means less money inthe bank to cover the expensescaused by many emergencies inthe first 6 months. Because ofthe impact of our new member-ship we will see more changesin the future. The board had tobe proactive in areas where weneed to upgrade our equipmentand facilities. With Capital weare purchasing new reliable golfcarts, building an extension onthe Terrace with new furnitureand purchasing new signage forthe golf course as just part ofour needs to upgrade and beau-tification. You can get all the in-formation on our web site andin the minutes of the specialmeeting. There has been a smallamount of rain to date this yearbut what a difference it hasmade to the golf course. I amnot overstating the fact that Ihave never seen the courseoverall look so good. I know ithas to do with all the work overthe past few years and a bigthanks to the greens committee. We are having our best yearever in the dining area. I havenever seen so many membersand guests show up at this timeof the year for Friday dinners.Thank you everyone. A big “well

done” to Ernie Sowers and hiscommittee. Our finances have neverlooked so good, so YES! We canafford our latest expenditure’s,and it will be a must to keepupgrading our facilities to mini-mize problems arising again. Thanks to Earl and his team. July we will start withCanada/USA celebrations onthe 3rd of July. I hope everyonehas a great day. Last but not least we have inour hands our new water per-mit which will start January1st, 2010 and will run for 10years. We like to try and beproactive with all our plans sowe are 6 months ahead ofschedule with this importantdocument. Thank you, Esther, for all your hard work withC.N.A.
