FINDING MY FIT – 1
Have you ever wondered why certain
things concern you more than normal
or why you get excited about specific tasks or assignments?
It’s time to discover the spiritual gifts
that God has placed within you.
This study will cover 20 gifts divided
into three categories – manifestation,
ministry, and motivational gifts.
In addition to our study we will take pre
and post tests designed to help you find your specific gift(s).
Let’s turn the page and begin
Finding My Fit: Uncover, Unpack, Unleash.
2 – FINDING MY FIT
“The local church is the hope of the world.” This is a clear,
direct statement of truth that should not be ignored or minimized.
Of all the entities and organizations that exist in an attempt to
make society better, the local church is remarkably unique. The
church has been founded and is being built by the Lord Jesus
Christ, Himself. It has also been given the responsibility of
stewarding the truth of the gospel. Ultimately, God’s church has
been called to reflect the glory of God in the midst of a dark world ravaged by sin and its tragic consequences. Those who
have truly placed their faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross
are a part of God’s church and are called to grow in community
with other believers in a local church. These persons have each
individually been called out of the world to come together in
covenant based on the gospel. Church is not an insignificant or unimportant thing. For a gospel-centered person, it is non-negotiable. The outward call of the church to the world demands the
inward care of the church for itself. God has designed each local covenant community to build itself up by placing what the community needs inside of who the community has. The intent
of this study is to inform and empower persons to discover the
FINDING MY FIT – 3
special spiritual endowment that God has given to them so that
it can be properly unleashed for our mutual development. You
have been graciously gifted by God and that gift must be used for God’s glory and our collective good. An added benefit of this study is that we will begin to take note of and appreciate all of the
gifts in our church. Some are more conspicuous and obvious, while
others seem nearly invisible. We will come to see the absolute
essentiality of those unsung gifts. This illumination should result in
more intense thanksgiving to God for His wise and kind provision
of spiritual gifts in our church.
Perceiver (eyes)
In section 3 we will focus on the Motivational Gifts, which are
the most commonly used gifts in the local church to serve God
and others around us. Here is a diagram to show how they are
all represented in the “body.”

Giver (arms)
Server (hands)
