IntroductionAncient Innovation is a project launched in Beijing by AIESEC THU in 2015. During this project, we hope to provide you with a unique experience in traditional Chinese culture.

In this program, you will be able to know more about yourself, learn a new kind of philosophy, express your innovation with polymer clay, and celebrate the spring festival with locals.

Job Description❖ Comprehensive spiritual trainings: Morning lessons,

polymer clay training, occasional discussion and collective outings with trainers and other participants.

❖ Working at art handicraft store: Communicate art elements and provide necessary services for visitors in our TN taker’s polymer clay shop.

❖ Life Exploration: The most important part of this exploration is to gain the balance through glimpses of life. Under trainers’ guidance, participants will do observations and reflections in caring about animals, surroundings and all basic necessities of life.

❖ Culture Exploration: Experience ancient Chinese lifestyle in Hutong (famous site full of folk customs and culture elements).

❖ Exploring Beijing: In the beginning of the project, EPs will be leaded to visit major tourist sites in Beijing.

❖ Arriving in Beijing: 1/24~1/25

❖ Touring and shopping around Beijing: 1/26~1/30

❖ Break and settling down: 1/31

❖ Main Period-Training and Learning: 2/1~2/18

❖ Celebrating Chinese New Year with locals: 2/8

❖ Departure: 2/19~2/20

❖ Location: Nanluoguxiang, Beijing, China

❖ Fee: Each EP shall pay $100 in total for the lunch and dinner provided by the TN taker during our training time. Breakfast may be provided by the host family.

❖ Accommodation: Homestay/Host family

❖ Transportation: Bus or subway ($1~2/day, not included in fee)

❖ Airport pick-up: You will be picked up by members of AIESEC THU.

❖ Every participant will have one Chinese buddy to be your companion during the program, picking you up from the airport, being your translator and best friend!

Introduction to Beijing❖ Beijing(Peking), capital of the People's Republic

of China (PRC), is a center of politics, culture, transportation, tourism and international communication.

❖ Beijing is not only the symbol of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, but also a fast-growing, dynamic metropolis attracting many foreign businesses and visitors while maintaining a firm grip on its rich cultural heritage.

❖ Beijing is a monolithic showcase which gives foreign visitors a vivid view of China. It has rich tourism resources including more than 200 famous historical sites, such as the Forbidden City(largest palace in the world), Temple of Heaven, the Royal Garden in the North Sea, the Royal Summer Palace Garden, etc. Anyway, you’ll never regret to explore this fantastic city.

Introduction to AIESEC THU❖ Founded in 2005, AIESEC THU has grown

into a mature Local Committee with more than 90 members and 2 SUs. Chungxiang Culture Co. LTD has been devoted to explore art, focus on education and life to shoulder the responsibility of making us human beings live a happier life. Mrs. Chunxiang Zhao believes this company to be a perfect combination of art and life. She seeks the philosophical way of experiencing art so that people will experience the mellow and full balance with this universe as well as experience the wholeness.

❖ The carrier of her intrinsic thought is polymer clay. The work of Chunking Culture aims at presenting human’s beautiful desire to art through integrate modern simplicity, Chinese traditional elements, with one’s internal feeling.

❖ It is actually a self-transcending achievement through Clay Art Education. They choose a pleasant and potential stimulating way to enlighten their students.
