Russian Revolution

Before 1917, Russia was an autocracy meaning the czar had complete power.

The last of the czars was Nicholas II Romanov

During WWI, Russia did not do well, millions of Russians were killed and citizens did not have enough food to eat.

The Czar and his family were captured and Russia’s government was overthrown.
