Issue: Extractive Type Analyzer, Line Chocking
• CHOKING is one of the LOUD words in case of Sulphur Analyzers
• CHOKING is the FIRST Problem to be suspected in SRU Analyzers
• The Worst Conditions are lead if Choking is not avoided
• CHOKING always a concern as a consequence RELIABILITY and AVAILABILITY is
?????????
Extractive Systems
Gas is extracted from the stack and transported to a CEMS shelter and analyzed.
• Components of an extractive system:* Probe* Particulate filter (s)* Moisture conditioning system* Pump* Controller* Analyzers* DAHS
SRU Efficiency – Recovery >99 %
Solution: Pipe mounted Type Analyzer, No Line Chocking

Use of Hydrogen Carrier Gas Ozone Depletion
Analytical Instrumentation & Maintenance Systems (AIMS)
According to conventional wisdom, hydrogen-fueled cars are
environmentally friendly because they emit only water vapor -- a
naturally abundant atmospheric gas. But leakage of the hydrogen gas
that can fuel such cars could cause problems for the upper
atmosphere, new research shows.
as per a research from the California Institute of Technology the
leaked hydrogen gas that would inevitably result from a hydrogen
economy, if it accumulates, could indirectly cause as much as a 10-
percent (10%) decrease in atmospheric ozone.
HYDROGEN Impact on OZONE (10% Depletion!!!)
Analytical Instrumentation & Maintenance Systems (AIMS)
Ozone depletion is a major environmental problem because it
increases the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that reaches
Earth's surface, which increases the rate of skin cancer, eye
cataracts, and genetic and immune system damage.

TFS - OPTICAL GC
• Measurement in based on NIR/IR absorption spectroscopy
with advanced spectral decomposition analysis
– Molecules absorb light radiation at certain frequencies or wavelengths
– Absorption spectrum of each hydrocarbon compound is unique => this acts as “fingerprint” and can be used to speciate compounds
– Intensity of the absorption is proportional to the concentration of the molecules => this can be used to compute concentrations

Core TFS Sensor Platform Design
TFS-based packs three instruments into one in less
than 25% of the volume of traditional solutions with
(1) real-time speciated hydrocarbon measurements,
(2) BTU/CV heating value and (3) Wobbe Index.
Note that the TFS-based requires no carrier gas,
requires no instrument gas, and is calibrated for the
life of the instrument. Maximum zero-drift of 0.2%
per month.
