Barco Presentation & Simulation Division is ISO 9001 registered.

Barco delivered a comprehensive system solution for daytaOhio, including a CADWall system powered by Barco’s XDS-1000 displaymanagement system, the immersive, multi-channel I-Spaceenvironment and two high-resolution projectors for presentationapplications in the facility’s conference rooms. The entire solutionis networked and administered from a central IT/AV location.

Thanks to Barco’s XDS Control Center software suite, which runson the CADWall as well as the projectors, users can displaymultiple data and video sources simultaneously. On the CADWall, this results in several mono and stereo 3D windows on the large1:1 scale CADWall display at the same time. Both the BarcoCADWall and I-Space virtual reality systems serve as a design andengineering tools for interaction with 3D stereo and are used forpresentation purposes in many different technical andeducational applications.

Bringing the latest technology to enhanceeducation and analysis

Geophysicists use seismic data to analyze different densities ofrock, sand, salt, oil and gas. “Until now, the challenge has beento analyze data represented with flat 2D images, and then tocreate 3D renderings,” says geophysicist Mike Zebrowski of HessCorp. “Now, he oil companies involved in the project areparticularly impressed with the speed at which the datainterpretation occurs - in days rather than weeks.”

Another way in which visualization helps improve humanperformance is to integrate multiple, disparate data sources inorder to optimize the performance of a task. For example, formilitary combat search and rescue, a virtual city street layout tohelp rescuers navigate and signal imminent threats. Thanks toBarco technology, a second visualization platform was added, which included an aerial overview of the field as provided by ahelicopter or unmanned drone. By integrating layered sensorydata in this manner, rescuers and first responders can be guidedto an emergency with fewer mishaps.

Providing a great opportunity for local commerce

“Barco’s system is fully tailored to our specific needs,” commentsKen Berta, executive vice president for daytaOhio, “But we neverimagined the countless possibilities for processing and visualizinglarge and varied data streams. Our ultimate goal is to stimulatelocal economic growth in our region. Thanks to Barcoísvisualization systems, weíre well on our way to helpingcompanies throughout the region become competitive players intodayís global market.”
