District Health Information System version 2 (DHIS2) is a tool used for the collection, validation, analysis, and
presentation of individual, aggregate and program data tailored (but not limited) to integrated health information
management activities.
DHIS2 is a free and open source software used by non-governmental and private organizations, the Federal
Ministry of Health and health facilities. It is mainly used to collect routine and real time data, analyse and visualize
the data and generate reports.
Our DHIS2 trainings are great for persons in Data Management, Public Health, and/or interested in Health
Information Systems.

Is DHIS2 a software based application? Could you please confirm if it requires a user license?
No, it is a fully free and open source software, and does not require a license.
Is the DHIS2 tool an open online platform or is it software based?
The DHIS2 is an open source tool that you can implement for your organization. When implemented for your
organization it becomes your own platform that you can customize and use it as you wish.
How many days is the training?
Currently, the training lasts for a day for the beginners level and 3 days for the advanced level. However, we tailor
our trainings to meet individual or organization’s need.
Is the training applicable to someone without prior knowledge of the health sector?
Be well assured that our certified trainers are well equipped to instruct a participant from a learner to an expert.
Would I need to come with my own PC?
Yes please.
