SYNOPSIS (THIS OUTLINES THE FLOW OF THE PARTY EVENTS).
It was St. Paddy’s Day and the Shakin’ Shamrock Pub was rockin’ and rollin’ with a full house of intriguing Irish gents and ladies. Some were regulars and others arrived just to celebrate the festive occasion! They started the party right by mingling with cocktails and delectable appetizers and engaged in a hilarious Irish Jig Contest and then competed with the Sprinkle of Irish Movie Challenge. Some of the customers were known rivals and didn’t get along fabulously, but everyone at the Shakin’ Shamrock kept the party going…that is, until a murder victim was discovered! Luckily, one of the customers had a friend at the local police department who was able to quickly collect some forensic evidence for the group to consider in their investigation of whodunit. To break the stress of the investigation, the customers took a break with the What Green Thing am I game and the Blimey Pot O’ Gold Toss. Then over a delectable dessert and hot coffee, the customers took turns accusing who they believed the murderer was and then to everyone’s shock…the murderer confessed! The customers got the party back on track with an awesome game of Irish Charades. Overall it was a St. Patrick’s Day to remember!

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HOST Get ready for a radical and shamrock-shakin’ party with your purchase of the Murder Me, I’m Irish game from mymysteryparty.com! This party is an entertaining and comical mystery where the players act the roles of hilarious Irish personalities while sleuthing the intriguing story line. This is an excellent choice for your next get together! The party pack (this document) needs to be printed in advance of the party. Cut out the clues and slip them into envelopes labeled with the appropriate round and character for each round of the party. It is optimal to choose different colored envelopes for each round.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PURCHASED
GAME The game is organized into three rounds. This is only a suggestion on how to play the mystery, you as the host can elect to do in any way that you wish. The game rounds are designed as follows: PRE-GAME STARTER: these pre-game starters are to be delivered to each guest before the party or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game starters are optional and do not alter the mystery and are intended to enhance the pre-game build up for the event. These starters are not vital to solving the mystery. In this game, there are also pre-game tasks for the characters to perform. These pre-game tasks are optional and the omission of them does not alter the mystery in any way. You will need to fill in your guests’ contact information (email is typically the best method of contact) on the pre-game task sheets for each guest to be able to contact the characters listed on each of their task sheets (see below).

HELPFUL HINTS ON HOW TO PLAY A MURDER MYSTERY: GUEST INSTRUCTIONS
So you’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most fabulous Irish costume and have been told to play your role. So now what? The mystery is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed an envelope that contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The clues for all of the required characters provide everything that you need to solve the mystery. However, during the investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close attention to everyone’s clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PURCHASED
GAME From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are playing a ‘green alien from Mars’, then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly, your host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There are some characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that should be played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable. Embellish your character’s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling more reserved tonight, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply listen in on others’ conversations to get your information.
Copyright © mymysteryparty.com Page 7
OPTIONAL PRE-GAME ROUND DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST: Before the party, encourage your guests to view this mystery on the www.mymysteryparty.com website or use the MY MYSTERY PARTY invitations as they have the character list included. This way, before the party, they can get familiar with the other characters that will be at the party.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PURCHASED
GAME Print these clues and send them to your guests via snail mail - USPS (suggested method). You can hand these to your guests as they arrive before you give the round one envelopes (last
resort method). There are also optional ‘pre-game tasks’ included in this game. These ‘pre-game tasks’ include instructions to contact other party guests with random clues to build pre-game excitement. The exclusion of these ‘pre-game tasks’ in no way will affect the mystery. However, it will lead to extra pre-game enthusiasm! You can send the ‘pre-game tasks’ with the pre-game clues in any method you choose from the options above.
PRE GAME STARTERS: (The following starters can be emailed or need to be cut out and put into sealed envelopes and labeled with the appropriate character and round - and should be given along with the optional pre-game task sheets that follow.)
EACH CHARACTER
WILL HAVE ONE IN THE
PURCHASED GAME

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME TASKS: The following tasks are completely optional and exclusion of them does not alter the mystery in any way. However, it does lead to pre-game build up and excitement! Cut the task strips out and slip them into the pre-game clue envelopes (with the above pre-game starters) and send about 1 week prior to the party. Be sure to fill in your guests’ preferred contact information on the task slips so they will be able to contact each other. The usual method of contact is via email.
CHARACTER- PADDIE BERGER OPTIONAL - for some pre-party fun, you can contact (email, phone, etc.) the following guests in the week leading up to the party: Contact the guest playing Fiona Collins and ask her why she goes to the Shakin’ Shamrock Pub every single night. Say that Blarney’s Burger Tavern has better food and you know this because you’re the chef there! (If Fiona Collins is not a guest, disregard this task.) (Contact info :________________________________________________________________) Contact the guest playing Kommy Shonahan and tell him/her that you’d like to talk about what happened between him/her and Kathleen MacDermott. Say that you heard a rumor that Kathleen invoked the ‘Federal Lemon Law’ on a car that Kommy sold to her. (Contact info :________________________________________________________________) Please note: either contacting the guests above or deciding to skip these tasks will not alter the mystery or anyone's ability to solve the mystery in anyway. However, contacting other guests will lead to excitement about the party and will encourage other guests to read about the other characters and be prepared for some completely mysterious fun!
COCKTAIL HOUR - IT’S PARTY TIME! DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST: Round one – cocktail hour begins as the guests arrive. Create an Irish Pub ambiance with an Irish mix CD playing softly, Irish / St. Patrick’s Day decor and any Irish movie without the audio (i.e. Leprechaun, etc.) if there is a television in the party room. Cocktails (i.e. apple martinis, green beer - add 1-2 drops of blue food coloring to any light beer) and appetizers can be served and a round one envelope should be handed to each guest. Make sure the guests’ instructions and the character descriptions are available for the guests to review. You can also creatively display the clue-containing envelopes on a table for the guests to locate their own character names. Don’t forget to take both individual pictures of your guests… but also a group picture when everyone arrives - they’ll all want copies of these!

COCKTAIL HOUR CLUES – CUT OUT, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES AND LABEL WITH THE APPROPRIATE ROUND AND CHARACTER
PADDIE BERGER– ROUND ONE USE THE FOLLOWING IRISH TRIVIA QUESTIONS AS AN ICE BREAKER
Question: True or False - St. Patrick wasn’t Irish. Answer: True - he was born in Scotland and his father was Italian! Question: True or False - During St. Patrick’s time, he changed the national color to green. Answer: False, it was blue during his time.
CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose:
Remember that you’re a compulsive liar - make up as many wild stories as you want to…but make sure they don’t alter the mystery!
Talk to a few people about the fact that Kathleen MacDermott refuses to give you a job at the Shakin’ Shamrock Pub. You’ve got years of experience as a chef at Blarney’s Burger Tavern and you want a career change…you love the Shakin’ Shamrock Pub and want a chance to be the head chef here.
Talk about how you heard a rumor that Kommy Shonahan sold a car to Kathleen MacDermott that had a broken radio and Kathleen actually hired an attorney and claimed the Federal Lemon Law on the car! Say that the rumor has it that the Cameo Car Lot had to buy back the car and it cost Kommy lots of money since s/he had to pay for the court costs and attorney’s fees!
Ask Fowler Fitzpatrick about how the fight against the Department of Agriculture is going regarding his/her chicken farm and the storage and disposal of the poultry manure. Say that you have been thinking about it and you find it completely unfair that one person can make a complaint to a governmental agency and cost a business owner thousands of dollars!
PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL Kathleen MacDermott won’t hire you at the Shakin’ Shamrock because she had lunch at Blarney’s Burger Tavern the ONE day that
you called in sick in the 8 years you’ve worked there. The salad chef who had never worked the grill before took your place and did a horrible job. The customers complained all day long! Kathleen believes it was you that made the burger for her and she has spread rumors all over town about how horrible of a chef that you are!
During the mystery, your character is the only one who doesn’t have to be honest because you are a compulsive liar… try your best not to make up any potentially mystery-altering clues in addition to those provided to you -just tell ‘off the wall’ lies to everyone. You do not, however, have to share the clues that you collect with other guests.

PADDIE BERGER – ROUND TWO - The murder will occur during this round
PRE-MURDER CLUES: Confront Kathleen about how you were sick the day that she came to eat at Blarney’s Burger Tavern. Say that it was the one day in 8 years that you had called in sick and it just had to be the day that she came to try your food. Say that the salad chef took your place that day and there were many complaints….she wasn’t alone in thinking it
was a horrible meal. But since you’d never called in sick before, the restaurant hadn’t been without you and nobody knew what to do. Say that Kathleen should give you another chance and if she actually tried your food,
you know she’d hire you! Tell a few people about how you own an online business and sell recipes for your burgers, Irish nachos, and other
items that you prepare at Barney’s Burger Tavern. Say that Mr. Blarney has no idea you’re doing that but they’re your recipes and you make pretty good money off of it!
Ask around to see if anyone has an idea of how you can get Kathleen to hire you.
POST -MURDER CLUE:
You were around the victim about 10 minutes ago. You noticed the victim wasn’t feeling well. You did serve the victim drinks earlier as you were trying to show that you’d be a great employee at the Shakin’ Shamrock.
You can’t remember at what time you served the victim a drink though…but you think it was much earlier tonight. It was casual party atmosphere tonight and some customers served others to help out the stressed out bar staff (like you did)
and you did notice that Tator McSalsbury served some customers drinks earlier tonight.
THE VICTIM SIGN: CUT IT OUT AND PLACE IT UNDER THE SINK DURING THIS ROUND WITH THE OTHER EVIDENCE.

SOLUTION ROUND - CUT OUT THE SOLUTION CARDS, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES THAT ARE LABELED WITH THE APPROPRIATE ROUND AND CHARACTER. PASS OUT THE ENVELOPES TO THE GUESTS
TO COMMENCE THE FINAL ROUND.
PADDIE BERGER– FINAL SOLUTION ROUND THREE – READ FIRST This is the final solution round. Every guest at this party will now tell their story to the group - in a specific order dictated by
this final solution clue card - and the murderer will now confess. Before you read your final solution, read the following Irish artist/band music lyrics to the other guests and ask them to give you the band and name of the song:
YEAH...ALL IS QUIET ON _____(SONG TITLE)_______
A WORLD IN WHITE GETS UNDERWAY. I WANT TO BE WITH YOU BE WITH YOU, NIGHT AND DAY. NOTHING CHANGES ON _____(SONG TITLE)_______
Answer: The band is U2 and the song is New Year’s Day
Say the following to the group:
“Everyone here knows that Kathleen MacDermott wouldn’t hire me as the head chef at the Shakin’ Shamrock Pub. She didn’t have a good reason, either. She had lunch at Blarney’s Burger Tavern once when I was at home…sick. Keep in
mind that this was the one time I’ve called in sick in the 8 years I’ve worked there! So, without a choice, the salad chef had to take my place on the grill. Kathleen later blamed me for her burger being awful when I wasn’t even there! The salad
chef had never made a burger…but how is that my fault!? Everyone here knows Blarney’s burgers are the best and it’s all because of ME! So did I have a serious grudge against her? Certainly. But I’m not the naughty leprechaun today, folks.
It wasn’t me.” KATHLEEN MACDERMOTT’S GHOST IS NEXT TO READ HER SOLUTION TO THE GROUP
