Living in KamogawaSummer Electricity Conservation

In an effort to encourage conservation, City Hall uses fewer lights and has put restraints on the use of air-conditioning in the building. We would also like to ask for your cooperation in conserving energy.

As the summer weather heats up, the use of electricity to stay cool will increase. We here at the City Hall would like to request that you try to find ways to limit your use of electricity while staying safe and avoiding heat stroke. Remember to turn off lights that are not in use, and if you run your air conditioner try keeping it set at 28 degrees or higher. For more information on ways to stay cool and eco-friendly during the summer, please contact the Environment Division (TEL: 04-7093-7838).

Holidy HumorLaugh off some of that summer heat with these

cool one-liners!

1) I tried to take a photo of the fog yesterday. Mist.

2) Steak puns are a rare medium well done.

3) All my vacuum cleaner does is collect dust.

4) I can do algebra, calculus, and real analysis, but geometry is where I draw the line.

5) Parallel lines have so much in common. It’s a shame they’ll never meet.

★) There are 10 types of people in this world: those who get binary, and those who don't.

Kamogawa City Tsunami DrillOn Wednesday, June 29th, the city will run a tsunami evacuation drill. The drill will begin at 9:00am with an earthquake warning; the tsunami warning siren will sound about a minute later at 9:01am. As this drill is meant to prepare Kamogawa citizens for an actual emergency, the city asks that everyone take an active role in participating. When you hear the sirens, please take immediate action by evacuating to your nearest evacuation site. After an earthquake, it only takes between 8 and 10 minutes for a 3 meter tsunami to reach land. Citizens will have approximately 9 minutes to reach their nearest evacuation site. In preparation for this drill and future emergencies, please discuss evacuation routes with your family and friends. For more information, please contact the Disaster Prevention Division at TEL:(7093)7833.

For detailed information on how to prepare for a disaster, please refer to the Kamogawa Disaster Prevention Guide. You can find it on the city website under: Official English Page> Living in Kamogawa> Disaster PreventionYou can also stop by the KIRA office on the 3rd floor of the city hall to receive a copy of the map in English and Chinese.
