This section establishes the requirements for the issue of an aircraft maintenancelicence and conditions of its validity and use, within the following categories:
— Category A
— Category B1
— Category B2
— Category B3
— Category
Categories A and B1 are subdivided into subcategories relative to combinations of aero!lanes, helico!ters, turbine and !iston engines" The subcategories are:
— A1 and B1"1 Aero!lanes Turbine
— A2 and B1"2 Aero!lanes #iston
— A3 and B1"3 $elico!ters Turbine
— A% and B1"% $elico!ters #iston
Category B3 is a!!licable to !iston&engine non&!ressuri'ed aero!lanes of 2(((

1" A category A aircraft maintenance licence !ermits the holder to issue certificatesof release to service following minor scheduled line maintenance and sim!ledefect rectification within the limits of tas6s s!ecifically endorsed on theauthorisation" The certification !rivileges shall be restricted to wor6 that the
licence holder has !ersonally !erformed in a #art&1%7 organisation"
2" A category B1 aircraft maintenance licence shall !ermit the holder to issuecertificates of release to service and to act as B1 su!!ort staff for maintenance!erformed on aircraft structure, !ower!lant and mechanical and electricalsystems" Certification of wor6 on avionic systems requiring only sim!le tests to!rove their serviceability, shall also be included in the !rivileges"
Troubleshooting on avionic systems is not allowed" Category B1 shallautomatically include the a!!ro!riate A subcategory"
3" A category B2 aircraft maintenance licence shall !ermit the holder:
0i to issue certificates of release to service and to act as B2 su!!ort staff for:
• maintenance !erformed on avionic and electrical systems and
• electrical and avionics tas6s within !ower!lant and mechanical systems,
requiring sim!le tests to !rove their serviceability and
0ii to issue certificates of release to service following minor scheduled linemaintenance and sim!le defect rectification within the limits of tas6s s!ecificallyendorsed on the #art&1%7 certification authorisation" This certification !rivilege
shall be restricted to wor6 that the licence holder has !ersonally !erformed in a#art&1%7 organisation, and limited to ratings already endorsed in the B2 licence"
The category B2 licence does not include any A subcategory"
%" A category B3 aircraft maintenance licence shall !ermit the holder to issue
certificates of release to service following maintenance, including aero!lanestructure, !ower!lant and mechanical and electrical systems" Certification of wor6 on avionic systems requiring only sim!le tests to !rove their serviceabilityand not requiring troubleshooting shall also be included in the !rivileges"
