Before You Start

This module is designed to familiarize you with Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management (FM) system. It describes, explains, and illustrates how to use the FM Graphical User Interface (GUI), the Messenger viewer, online help, and other supporting functions.

The following areas of Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management are described in dedicated training modules:

• Load Controller

• Load Control Supervisor

• Freight Handling Agent

• Ramp Handling Agent

• Domain Allocation

• Departure Controller

• Plan Template Management

Audience

This training module is intended for users of the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management system.

It is a prerequisite that the audience has a basic understanding of the operation of GUI based applications and a basic understanding of Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management security roles and permissions.

Where Do I Go For Help?

Online help is available for the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Managment system.

If you need help on how to use the FM application, contact your companys first-level help desk. If additional assistance is required, they will escalate the issue to the Amadeus Service Management Centre.


Chapter 1

Introduction to Flight Management

Flight Management (FM) is an integrated component of the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control System. The FM application supports all aspects of flight event planning, load control, and weight and balance functions.

All FM functions can be accessed using the Graphical User Interface (GUI). The following table lists the FM applications that are accessible from the FM GUI.

Departure Control The application area where you can access departure control functions.

Plan Template The application area where you can access plan template functions.

Freight The application area where you can access the freight handling functions.

Ramp The application area where you can access the ramp handling functions.

Domain Allocation The application area where you can access domain allocation functions.

Unmatched LDM/CPM

The application area where you can view and manage unmatched LDM/CPM.

Note: You must have the relevant roles and permissions to access an application area.

Unmatched LDM/CPM is included in the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management Load Control training module. All other functional areas are described in dedicated training modules.

The FM application interfaces with:

• Other applications in the Altéa suite

• Other Amadeus systems

• External systems

Chapter 2

Logging In to Flight Management

Before you can log in to the Flight Management (FM) system, your security administrator must define roles and permissions to allow you to perform specific functions in the application.

Flight Management Login Window

Note: The User Id and Organisation shown in the example differs depending on who is logging in to the system. The User Id can also be made of alphanumerical characters.

You must use the Login window to log into the FM application before you can access any FM functions. There are two versions of the Login window:

• The normal Login window

This window is used for basic login activities

The normal Login window is displayed by default when you launch the FM application. You can toggle between the normal and the advanced Login windows by clicking on the appropriate button, as indicated in Login Window Controls on page 7.

• The advanced Login window

This window is used for advanced login functions:

- Changing the login mode

- Specifying your office or remote office ID

- Changing your password

The system keeps a record of the login parameters that you enter. Until you need to change a login parameter value, you only need to fill in your password to log in.

After a number of unsuccessful attempts to log in, for example if you enter your password incorrectly several times, your account can become locked. Your security administrator determines how many unsuccessful attempts are allowed.

Chapter 2 Logging In to Flight Management


Login Window Controls The Login Window Control buttons and their functions are described in the following table.

All text fields in the Login window are cleared. Drop-down menus revert to default settings.

The Login window expands to display the Advanced Login fields. This button is displayed only in the Normal window.

The Login window minimises to hide the Advanced Login fields. This button is displayed only in the Advanced window.

Log in is attempted using the information currently entered. If the system validates your login, the FM application opens.

Your login attempt is cancelled and the FM application closes.

Login Window

The Normal Login Window

To log on to the FM application using the normal Login:

1. Launch the FM application.

The normal Login window opens.

2. If necessary, change the default Connection setting by selecting the appropriate option from the drop-down menu based on your preferred login mode.

In this case, you must also specify your organisation two-letter code. For example, 1A.

Note: You can change the login mode in the advanced Login window, described in Changing the Login Mode on page 9.

3. Click on the OK button. If your login is successful, the relevant welcome window opens.

Advanced Login Functions

To display advanced login functions:

1. Launch the FM application.

The normal Login window opens.

2. Click on the Advanced button.

The Login window expands to display the advanced Login fields.

You can use the advanced Login window to perform the following advanced login procedures:

- Changing the login mode

- Changing your duty code

This does not impact your roles in FM.

- Specifying your office or remote office ID

- Changing your password

3. Click on the OK button to log in.



Changing the Login Mode

If you use Sign Login mode, enter your Amadeus sign ID and password.

If you use User + Organisation login mode, enter your Organisation user ID and password.

To use the Mode drop-down menu to change the login mode:

1. Click on the Mode field to open the Mode drop-down menu.

2. Select the required option.

The Mode drop-down menu closes and the selected option is displayed in the Mode field.

Specifying Your Office ID

An administrator may define more than one sign for the same user. For example if you are entitled to work in two separate offices in different roles, the security administrator may define two signs for you with the appropriate access rights in the remote office.

To sign into an office other than your default one for a particular session, you must sign in remotely.

You can specify your Office ID or Remote Office by entering the required values in the appropriate field.

Changing Your Password

Your user ID is initially associated to a default password that you must change the first time you log in. The system prompts you to enter a new password when your old one expires. Your administrator sets the validity period of your password.

To change your password:

1. Enter your old password in the Password field in the normal Login window.

2. Enter your new password in the New Password field in the advanced Login window.

3. Re-enter your new password in the Confirmation field in the advanced Login window.

Note: Password fields are case-sensitive, and can include a combination of letters or numbers. You must use a minimum of 6 characters, and a maximum of 40. Your last 12 passwords are stored in the system and cannot be reused.

4. Click on the OK button.

Logging Out

You can change your login or exit the FM application by clicking on the relevant option in the FM window File menu.

You can also exit the FM application by clicking on the FM window title bar Close

icon .

Failed Login

If you try to Log in to the FM application and you use an incorrect user ID, the system rejects the login and a pop-up window advises you that the user ID is invalid.

If you try to log in to the FM application using a password that the system does not recognise, the system rejects the login and a pop-up window is displayed.

If you try to enter your password more than the maximum allowed number of times, the following pop-up window appears.



Opening an Application Area When you successfully log into the FM application, an application area opens automatically according to your roles and permissions. If you have roles and permissions in multiple areas, the highest-ranking application area opens by default. The available application areas and their ranking are described in the following table (1 is the highest ranking).

Note: The Messenger application is always open when you are logged in.

If you need to open a different area, you can do so by selecting an option in the Applications submenu.

Only the application areas for which you have a role and permissions are enabled. After you select an area, the relevant application opens. For example, if you are logged in as Supervisor and click on the Departure Control option in the FM GUI File submenu:

• The Supervisor application area closes.

• The Departure Control application area opens.


Chapter 3

Flight Management GUI

The Flight Management (FM) Graphical User Interface (GUI) displays the various FM windows and controls.

The Flight Management GUI

You can use the menus, buttons, and other controls of the FM GUI to access and control FM applications. The following items are part of the GUI.

• Title bar and resize controls

• Menu bar

• Window tabs

• Status bar

• FM window features

• Tables

• Common navigation standards, and shortcuts

Note: Some navigation and display functions are limited until you select a specific flight within an FM application area.

Title Bar and Re-size Controls

The Title bar displays the window title. For example, Flight Information.

Standard window resize controls are located on the right of the title bar. They are explained in the following table:

Clicking on this button minimises the window.

This button is displayed when the window is maximised. Clicking on it allows you to move and resize the window.

This button is displayed when the window is not maximised. Clicking on it maximises the window.

Clicking on this button in a FM main window title bar closes the window and exits from the FM application. Clicking on this button in a pop-up window title bar closes the window, but does not exit from the FM application.

Chapter 3 Flight Management GUI


Menu Bar Depending on your roles and permissions, and the current FM application area, the menu bar gives you access to some or all of the following menus:

• File

• Applications

• View

• Load Control Status

• Tools

• Help

If you click on an available menu, a submenu opens.

File

If you click on File, a submenu opens and lists the following options.

File Menu Option Function

Change Login ... Opens the Flight Management Login window.

Exit Closes the FM application.

Applications

If you click on Applications in the menu bar, a submenu opens that lists the FM application areas. Only areas for which you have roles and permissions are enabled.

You can select an option from the submenu to switch to the corresponding application area.

View

If you click on View in the menu bar, a submenu opens.

The View menu is available only if you are logged in as one of the following:

• Load Controller or Supervisor

The submenu option is Refresh.

• Departure Controller

The submenu option is Flight Information.

Click on the Refresh option to refresh the information in the current Flight Management window. If you did not save changes to information in the window, a warning dialog box opens and prompts you to save it.

The Flight Information option in the View menu is enabled only if you open the Departure Control application area while assigned to a specific flight. If you click on the active Flight Information option:

• The Departure Control application area closes.

• The previous application area reopens and the Flight Information window for the assigned flight is displayed.

Load Control Status

The Load Control Status menu is available only if you are logged in as Load Controller or Supervisor.

If you click on Load Control Status in the menu bar, a submenu opens and lists the Load Control status options.

The only options available to you are Load Control Open and Load Control Cancelled.

When you are assigned to a flight, the load control status of the flight is indicated by a tick displayed next to the appropriate menu option.

You can set the load control status by clicking on the appropriate option in the menu. Only one option in the menu can be selected at any time.



When you click on an option in the menu, a warning dialog box opens asking if you are sure of your action.

Tools

If you click on Tools in the menu bar, a submenu opens showing the View Log option. Click on the option and the Log Contents window opens. This is described in Viewing the Log on page 29. You can also click on View Performance Log to display the Performance Log Contents window.

Help

If you click on Help in the menu bar, a submenu opens. Clicking an option in the menu opens an associated window. The following table lists the available options.

Contents Opens the Online Help window appropriate to the active window.

About…. Opens the About JFE dialog box where you can view version details of the FM application you are using.

Window Tabs The Flight Management window navigation tabs are located above the main area of the Flight Management window.

The Load Controller Window Tabs

Click on the appropriate window tab to move between windows within an application area and also to reach the Messenger window. A highlighted tab indicates which window is currently displayed. If you click on another tab, the associated window opens and replaces the original window.

• The Load Controller and Supervisor applications display multiple tabs because there are multiple windows.

• The Messenger tab is always displayed.

Navigation tabs displayed in specific FM applications are described in the relevant dedicated training modules.



Status Bar The Flight Management window status bar is located at the bottom of all FM windows.

The following identifies the different parts of the status bar.

The following table lists the information that is displayed in the Status bar when applicable.

1 Application Status

Explanation of the operation in progress. For example, Performing server transaction, please wait.

2 Busy Indicator For example, Busy. Busy indicates that the application is processing a transaction.

3 Connection Details

Shows the current user logged on to the application.

4 Units of Weight Units of Weight KG indicate kilograms. Units of Weight LB indicate pounds.

5 Baggage Flight Type

P indicates a Pieces Only flight. PW indicates a Pieces and Weight flight.

6 Cargo Status Blank until the Cargo Department releases freight for the flight, then Cargo Final is displayed. After the Cargo is finalised, the display shows one of the following: Cargo Final - I Internal – The Cargo agent has finalized the flight. Cargo Final - E External – The external feed with Final status are received. Cargo Final - A All – Both Internal and External freight are finalised.

7 General flight Status

The two-letter code indicating the general status. For example, GO. For more information, see General Flight Status Indicators on page 45.

8 Load Control flight Status

The code indicating the load control status. For example, LO. For more information, see Load Control Flight Status Indicators on page 46.

9 Acceptance flight Status

The two-letter code indicating the acceptance status. For example, AO. For more information, see Acceptance Flight Status Indicators on page 45.

10 Boarding flight Status

The two-letter code indicating the boarding status. For example, BN. For more information, see Boarding Flight Status Indicators on page 46.

Number Status Bar Information

11 LIR Version Number

The version number of the most recent Load Instruction Report (LIR). For example, LIR 1.

12 Provisional Loadsheet (PRV) Version Number

The version number of the most recent provisional load sheet. For example, PRV 1.

13 Local Time In the format hh:mm. For example, 12:00.

Unless you are currently viewing a flight leg, the status bar display is limited to non flight-specific information.

While you are assigned to a flight, the status bar displays a summary of the latest information about the flight and the status bar is automatically updated.



Window Features The following table summarises common window elements and their features.

Tables Many FM application windows display information in tables.

Navigating Within Tables

You can use the keyboard shortcuts to navigate sequentially within a table. These shortcuts are summarised in the following table.

Navigating Between Tables

You can use table keyboard shortcuts to navigate sequentially within a table. For more information, see Keyboard Shortcuts and Control Conventions on page 30. You can also navigate between different tables on the same window by holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the Tab key.



Tabbing Between Tables

As you tab to the next table within the window, the first box is highlighted.

Sorting Table Rows

Some tables in the FM application enable you to sort rows according to the data in a specific column.

If a table has this function, the columns that can be used as sorting criteria display the sort indicator in the column header cell that is illustrated in the following image:

The sort indicator consists of two arrows. Its detail is different according to how the column is used to sort the data. You can control the table sort function by clicking sequentially on the column header cell. These properties are explained in the following table.

The Multiple Selection Function

Some tables and lists allow you to select multiple items.

You can select the multiple items individually by pressing the Ctrl key as you click on the items you want to select. Selected items are highlighted. In the following example, two items were selected individually.

To select multiple items in a continuous block:

1. Click on the first item in the block.

2. Hold down the keyboard Shift key.

3. Click on the last item in the block.

In the following example, four items were selected as a block.

Vertical Scroll Bar

If information contained in a window, a table or a menu cannot be displayed in its entirety, vertical or horizontal scroll bars appear on the side or the bottom of the window. Dragging these scroll bars enables you to scroll the content and view the rest of the information. You can also click on the arrows.

Window Control Buttons The following buttons are common to many windows in the FM application:

• OK

• Apply

• Cancel

• Reset

OK Button

The OK button is active only when you have updated information in the window. If you click on the active OK button:

• Any changes you made to information in the window are saved to the system.

• The window closes.

Apply Button

The Apply button is active only when you have updated information in the window.

If you click on the active Apply button:

• Changes you made to the information are saved.

• The window is refreshed to include any updated information and remains open.

Cancel Button

If you click on the Cancel button:

• Any unsaved changes you made to information are discarded.

• The window closes.

Reset Button

The Reset button is active only when you have updated information in the window. If you click on the active Reset button:

• Any changes you made to information in the window are discarded.

• The window is refreshed with information previously saved to the system.



• The window remains open.

Disabled Buttons

Displayed control buttons might be disabled until pre-set conditions are established. For example, the Expand button is disabled until you select the message in the Messages panel.

The All Messages and Publish Message buttons are not disabled.

Update Confirmation

If you update information in a FM window and do not save the changes, you are prompted to confirm your action when you:

• Attempt to navigate to a different window.

• Refresh the window.

The Modification confirmation dialog box opens and prompts you to confirm if you want to save any changes by clicking on one of the buttons:

• If you click on the Yes button, the changes are saved to the system and the Confirmation dialog box closes.

• If you click on the No button, unsaved changes are discarded, the Confirmation dialog box closes.

Departure Time Display Convention

The following conventions are used when displaying flight departure times:

• The time of departure is displayed in the format hhmm

This is a twenty-four hour clock.

• STD - Schedule Time of Departure (S)

• ATD - Actual Time of Departure (A)

• ETD - Estimated Time of Departure (E)

Departure time may also be displayed as:

• Local time (L)

• Domain time (D)

Domain time is governed by the local time of the city associated with the domain. Flight times are displayed in either UTC, local or domain time depending on the setting requested by the carrier.

• Universal Time Coordinated - UTC (Z)

The time format is explained in the following table.

A0900L A = ATD L = Local

E1230D E = ETD D = Domain Local

S1845Z S = STD Z = UTC



If relevant, the number of days (-/+) that the ETD or ATD differs from the scheduled departure date are displayed. For example, E0030Z +1.

Viewing the Log The system logs all actions performed on a flight and records them with a date-time stamp. You can view this log in the Log Contents window.

If you select the View Log option in the Help submenu, the Log Contents window opens.

The Log Contents window is split into two panes:

• The upper pane lists all logged actions in table format.

• The lower pane displays details of any action that you highlight in the upper pane.

You can print or copy information presented in the log by clicking on the appropriate button at the bottom of the Log Contents window.

Click on the Close button to close the Log Contents window.

Keyboard Shortcuts and Control Conventions Using a mouse is the most efficient way to work with the FM GUI. There are also some keyboard shortcuts and control conventions.

Window Tab Navigation

You can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate between window tabs to open FM windows. Window tab shortcuts are summarised in the following table:

Right arrow Select the next tab

Left arrow Select the previous tab

Menu Navigation

Many FM application menus and buttons have a keyboard shortcut. This may be indicated in the FM display by:

• An underlined letter

• A shortcut key combination

Underlined Letter

When a letter in the menu or submenu option is underlined, you can use the keyboard to select menu or submenu option:

1. Hold down the Alt key.

2. Press the key representing the underlined letter.

This has the same effect as clicking on the menu option.

Underlined Letter Example

The File option in the FM menu is displayed with the letter F underlined. If you press the F key, while holding down the Alt key, the File submenu opens. This is the same result as selecting File with a click of the mouse.



Shortcut Key Combinations

Keyboard shortcut combinations for menu options are displayed on the Flight Management window, next to the option that they represent.

Drop-down Menus

When a drop-down menu is highlighted, you can use the keyboard shortcuts displayed in the following table.

Up arrow, or down arrow Moves the highlight within the open menu, and selects the highlighted item.

Enter, or Return, or Spacebar, or Escape, or F4

Closes the menu, enters the latest selection.

Tab Closes the menu, enters the latest selection. Moves the focus to the next window object.

Operating Buttons

You can operate control buttons in FM with your keyboard in two ways:

• Underlined letter

• Highlight/enter

These methods have the same effect as clicking on the target button.

Underlined Letter

You can operate a button with your keyboard if its label is displayed with an underlined letter:


2. Press the key representing the underlined letter.

For example, as an alternative to clicking on the Reset button, you can hold down the Alt key and press the R key.

OK and Cancel Buttons

The OK and Cancel buttons do not have underlined letters.

If the focus is on the OK button, you can press the Enter key to operate the OK button.

Unless there are editable fields on the window that you are viewing, you can press the Esc key to operate the Cancel button. If there are editable fields or you have taken action on the window, you might need to navigate to the Cancel button before you press the Esc key.

Highlight / Enter / Space Bar

You can operate a button with your keyboard by highlighting it and pressing the Enter key:

1. Highlight the target button using window object navigation. For information see, Window Object Navigation on page 33.

2. Press the Enter key on the keyboard.

You can also use the space bar in the same manner to operate a highlighted button or box. If you are working in a table, press Ctrl + tab to focus on the control buttons. The space bar can now be used to select a button.

Window Object Navigation

You can use the Tab key on your keyboard to navigate sequentially through a set of window objects. For example, fields, text boxes, menus, and buttons.

A window object is highlighted to indicate it is selected and ready for your further action. For example, entering text or pressing the Enter key.

Shift + Tab Focus on the previous window object



A window may contain several sets of field objects. For example, panels or tables. You can navigate sequentially between sets as described in the following table.

Selecting Check Boxes

When a check box is in focus, you can use the keyboard spacebar to select and deselect it:

Press the spacebar to select a check box.

Press the spacebar to clear a check box.


Chapter 4

Receiving and Sending Messages

Messages are received and sent from the Messages panel. The panel consists of:

• A table that contains the first line of each message, the time the message was received, and an indicator as to whether the message was read.

• Control buttons

- All Messages

- Expand

- Publish Message

The Messages Panel

The Messages panel displays a list of messages relevant to the assigned flight

The Messages panel is displayed as part of the FM application when you view any of the following windows:

• Flight Information

• Deadload

• Load Distribution

• Fuel

• Passenger

• Documents

• Freight Handling

• Ramp Handling

Message Display

The Messages panel displays one-line summaries of errors, warnings, and other messages relevant to the assigned flight.

The message priority and status is indicated by the colour of the message text.

Note: Low priority messages are not displayed in the Messages panel.

The Message Display contains the following columns:

Column Description

Check box The message is flagged as processed when you select this check box. For more information, see Processing Messages on page 37.

Time Indicates the time the message originated. The time shown is the Messenger Server time.

Message The first line of the message. If the entire message cannot be shown, three dots appear to signify that some of the text is not displayed. You can view the whole message by using the Expand button.

For information on message status options and the associated icon, see Messages Requiring a Response on page 39.

Messages are sorted within the message display in descending time order. By default, the most recent message is displayed on the top of the list. You can change the sorting criteria to message type. For more information, see Sorting Table Rows on page 23.

A one-line summary is displayed for each message. You can view the complete message on either of the following:

• Messenger window

• Message pop-up window

Processing Messages If a message does not require a response, you can flag it as processed by selecting the associated check box in the Messages panel.

Select the check box to display flag the message as processed.

Clear the check box to flag the message as unprocessed.

If the message requires a response, the Message Processed check box is not active. For more information, see Messages Requiring a Response on page 39.

If a message only requires an acknowledgement, you can also flag it as processed by clicking the OK button in the associated Message pop-up window. For more information, see Message Pop-up Windows on page 38.

Viewing All Messages

You can view all messages relevant to you and your allocated flights in the Messenger window. To open the Messenger window click on the All Messages button or select the Messenger Tab.

The Messenger window is described in the Messenger Training module.

Viewing a Selected Message

You can view the full text of a message in the Message pop-up window.

To open the Message pop-up window:

1. Select the target message in the Messages panel.

The Expand button becomes active.

2. Click on the Expand button.

The Message pop-up window for the target message opens.

Message Pop-up Windows

Very High Priority Message

When a message is received, Message pop-up windows open automatically based on the message priority.

• When a Very High priority message is received, a Message pop-up window opens regardless of the flight leg to which it relates.

• When a High priority message is received a Message pop-up window opens only if it relates to the flight leg the Load Controller is currently working on.

Note: Low and Medium priority messages do not prompt a Message pop-up window to open automatically.

The Message pop-up window consists of:

• Message priority designation.

For example, Very High priority message received.

• Message panel

The complete message is displayed.

• Control buttons

The Message pop-up window control buttons vary according to whether or not a response is required.

A Message pop-up window also opens when you select a message and click on the Expand button.



Messages Requiring Acknowledgement

When a message requires only an acknowledgement, the associated Message pop-up window displays only the OK button.

If you click on the OK button:

• The message is flagged as processed.

• The Message pop-up window closes.

You can close the pop-up window without flagging the message as

acknowledged by clicking the Window Close icon .

Messages Requiring a Response

Message Requiring a Response

When a message requires a response, you can process the message by clicking on one of the buttons described in the following table.

Message processing is neither accepted nor rejected. The Message pop-up window closes. This action delays the response to the message and sets the status to delayed.

You can close the pop-up window without flagging the message as processed by

clicking on the Window Close icon .

Message Status Display

When you process a message that requires a response, an icon next to the appropriate message summary in the Messages panel indicates the message status. The possible status options and associated icons are described in the following table.

If there is an error with a response to a message, the Message pop-up window is displayed. An appropriate error message is displayed at the bottom of the window directly above the Close button.

For example, if the message you have responded to is no longer valid and your response is not relevant, the following error message is displayed:

Message response failed. (0:20158) No message has been received/stored.

In this case, closing the pop-up window is the only option.

If you click on the Close button:

• The message is flagged as processed.

• The Message pop-up window closes.

You can close the pop-up window without flagging the message as processed by

clicking the Window Close icon .



Messenger Publish Window The Publish button is only available to a Load Control Supervisor. When you click on this button, the Messenger Publish window opens.

The Messenger Publish window enables you to send messages to selected Load Controllers.

The Messenger Publish Window

The Messenger Publish window consists of the following elements:

• Publish message text box

You type the text of the message in the Publish message text box.

• Option buttons

• Text fields that enable you to target the message

• Priority drop-down menu

• Publish and Close buttons

Targeting the Message

You can use the option buttons and associated fields to specify the users who should receive the message. The text entry fields are enabled after you select the associated option button.

Load Controllers Located at a Domain

If you select the Load Controllers handling flights in domain, the message is sent to all Load Controllers at the specified domain. You must specify the domain name by entering its code in the Domain field.

Load Controllers Located at a Port from which Flights Depart

If you select the Load Controllers handling flights from port option, you must specify the port.

Load Controllers Handling a Specific Flight

If you select the Load Controllers handling flight option, you must specify the Flight number, the Flight date and the Port.

Note: You cannot target messages by specifying only the flight date.

Specifying the Flight Number

There are two fields associated with specifying a flight. You enter the carrier code portion of the flight number in the first field. For example, 6X. You enter the remainder of the flight number in the second field. For example, 174.

Specifying the Flight Date

You must specify a date. The Flight Date text box displays the current date by default. To specify a different date, do one of the following:

• Type a new date in the text box.

• Select the required date in the pop-up calendar.

This appears when you click on the calendar icon next to the Flight Date field.

The pop-up calendar displays the current month and has the current date

selected by default. You select a date by clicking on it in the calendar.

You can navigate to a different month or year by clicking the following buttons.

These buttons scroll sequentially through the years.

These buttons scroll sequentially through the months.



Specifying the Port

You can target Load Controllers at a port by entering its three-letter IATA code in the Port field. For example, SYD.

Load Controllers Handling Aircraft Registration

You can target Load Controllers handling a specific aircraft by entering the aircraft registration in the Aircraft Registration field. For example, VH-OJR. The registration format must comply with your company's standards.

Specifying the Message Priority

Message Priority Drop-Down Menu

The message priority is set to Low by default. You can specify a different priority by selecting an option from the Message Priority drop-down menu. The available options are as follows:

• Very High

• High

• Medium

• Low

Publishing the Message

If you click on the Publish button, the message that you entered in the Publish Message: text box is sent to the target audience.

If the message is published successfully, the following message is displayed.

MESSAGE SUCCESSFULLY SENT

If the message is not successfully published, an error message is displayed.

If you click on the Close button, any entries that you made in the Messenger Publish window are discarded, no messages are sent, and the window closes.
