Many of the Psalms were both a songbook and a guide to worship for the ancient Israelites. This weekend we will look at Psalm 95. This Psalm reminds us of three 'moods' in which to come which will enhance our worship, the giving of worth to God. MORNING SERVICE REVIEW As mentioned last week in the services, a review of future directions for our Sunday service program is being undertaken. Two papers are available from the foyer. One green paper provides an overview of some of the reasons for this, while the white paper contains a summary of these and a place for you to respond with what you see as the strengths and weaknesses of different options that have been put forward. These will be collated by the Council and will provide the basis for discussion groups for the congregation in planning for the future. The papers are also available on our website. Please return them to Stephen by email or place them in the box in the foyer. 24 HOURS - LENTEN STUDIES Study and devotional material will be available for our Lenten series - 24 hours that changed the world. The study material consists of a leaders guide and video input. The leaders’ role is primarily to guide the group through the material rather than be an expert, and can be shared around the group. Please sign up on one of the clipboards in the foyer if you are a. interested in hosting a group at your home and/or b. leading a group c. attending a group along with your preferred times for meeting (day and morning, afternoon, night). UNITING AID DONATION RECEIPTS- Please collect from mail boxes near bathrooms.

SAFE CHURCH TRAINING - 1ST APRIL It is important that our church is a safe place for all people, particularly children and other vulnerable people, such as the elderly. The Synod will be running an Induction Workshop on the 1st April for Nedlands Uniting attenders in order for us to be aware of, and together actively, build a safe church environment around all our vulnerable people. If you are involved in a ministry with children or vulnerable people, you will need to attend either this one, or one of the other workshops being run in other churches, this year. Please see Stephen or Emma.

WEST TIMOR PROJECTS-Uniting World (UW), the Uniting Church overseas

mission agency, is administering a few projects in West Timor. At present NUC is supporting two of these projects.

1. In partnership with UW, we support students to undertake tertiary studies in theology and other fields that may be economically important, at the Christian University in Kupang (UKAW). NUC is already helping ten students studying; paying their University fees, student accommodation and living expenses.

2. NUC also supports UW’s Micro-Finance project to provide loans to families and community groups to expand their small businesses in West Timor. Donations to this project qualify for a tax deduction.

Donations can be made to these projects by:

Placing your donation in the box in the foyer; indicating the project you wish to support and making cheques payable to Nedlands Uniting Church – West Timor Account;

or Sending your donations directly to the bank account, details of which are available in the foyer.
