*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostle’s Creed (Unison)I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resur-rection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

*HYMN Sing Praise to the Lord No. 346

SCRIPTURE Matthew 13: 44-52 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold every-thing he had and bought it. “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked. “Yes,” they replied. He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

This seven-movement Cantata written by Tom Fettke moves us from the festivities of Palm Sunday. through the death and agony of Jesus, to our celebration of the resurrection message. Mr. Fettke has designed an inspiring and moving

musical with narration that informs and touches the heart. Many of the melodies are drawn from 19th century American sources - hymn tunes, folk songs, and spirituals. The cantata will feature 3 soloists from the

CHANCEL CHOIR - Mike Meehan, Marc Deur and Lorna Smilde, narrator Carol Baker, and an orchestra consisting of violin, cello, flute, clarinet, oboe and piano.

Find out how you can share your time and talent with VBS.

Ed Saxe was a realtor who owned his own corporation with eight offices in three different counties in Pennsylvania. He retired from the brokerage after 36 years in 2000 and sold out to the seventh largest real estate company in America. He continues to invest in real estate. Ed is a Gideon and enjoys visiting people in nursing homes. His greatest joy was leading a 97-year-old lady to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as her Savior. She

was churched all her life but never had that personal relationship with Jesus.

Ginger Huhn lives in Ohio on a small farm during the off-season. She retired in 2001 after

teaching elementary school for 30 years. She has been married to Curt for 50 years and has 2 children and 5

grandchildren. She has been attending Roser since 2007.

Gretchen Petraske was born in Wisconsin and lived there where she and her husband Harold worked and raised their family. Now Gretchen is a 6-month resident of Holmes Beach and returns to Wisconsin for the summers. She is very thankful to be here and become a member of Roser Church.

Carl & Kathryn Austin have been coming to Florida since the early fifties,

especially to visit their parents who lived here. They are retired independent insurance agents

from Nashville, Indiana, a small arts and crafts village not far from Indianapolis. They have been married sixty years, have three children and four

grandchildren. They are snowbirds, who are glad to be a part of Roser Church, while maintaining membership in a community church in Indiana.

Here we GROW again!Welcome to our newest members received Sunday, March 11!

THE GROOVE FOR YOUTH Taught by Glenda Beck

DEFENDING THE FAITH

Taught by Rev. Dr. Bob O’ Keef Location: Chapel

A Study of the Letters of JohnIn the early days of the church a group of Christians believed that they were receiving direct inspiration from the Holy Spirit and no longer needed Jesus or His teaching. The three brief, but powerful letters address these ancient heresies. John demands that we know Jesus, that we walk in His light, and that we love in a radical way. John teaches that radical love should transform us and those whom we love. Dr. Bob will help us understand how to defend and live out our faith in the 21st Century.

The Good, the Bad, and the UglyEver sung hymns in church and not understood them? Have you ever wondered if some hymns line up with Scripture? This class will explore different hymns each week, study their history, and ask whether they are theologically sound. ECHO is a Christian non-profit whose mission is to follow Jesus by reducing hunger and improving the lives of small-scale farmers worldwide through partnerships that equip people with agricultural resources and skills. ECHO shares knowledge that is proven and practical through Regional Impact Centers in East Africa, West Africa, Asia and a U.S. location in North Fort Myers, Florida, which serves the Latin America and the Caribbean.

For the 795 million people who are hungry, the world is a challenging place. The urban poor face high prices and low incomes, making nutritious food unattainable. Rural families are often malnourished because of a lack of diverse nutrients in their diets, if they have enough to eat at all.

ECHO’s vision is to honor God by empowering the under-nourished with sustainable hunger solutions.
