Each purchased ticket not only covers the playhouse's

larger expenses (company member salaries, show royalties,

rental of the theater facility, sets, costumes, props,

advertising, insurance, and taxes), but also funds upgrades

to equipment, shop facilities, and living spaces. Additional

support and financial assistance through our “Friends of

the Playhouse” fund has helped BSP continue the tradition

of bringing professional live theatre to Bigfork for all ages

and families to enjoy in the summer. Thanks for 50+ years

of continued support!

NEW! ADDITIONAL $1 PER TICKET FEES This season our patrons have been assessed a mandatory

$1 fee per ticket sold by the foundation (BCPAF) that

owns the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. This

fee is out of our control but is intended to help fund the

maintenance of the building and equipment. We’re sorry

for any inconvenience.

42nd STREET (G) 42nd STREET tells the story of a humble, naive young actress named Peggy Sawyer who has come to audition for a new Broadway

musical. Unfortunately, due to her nervousness, Peggy arrives to the audition late and misses her chance to join the chorus. Luckily, Peggy soon catches the eye of the famous director, Julian Marsh, and he gives Peggy her big break. However, the show’s aging leading lady, Dorothy Brock, quickly grows to dislike Peggy. On opening night, Ms. Brock falls and breaks her ankle. Panic spreads through the company, as the show is doomed for closure, until it is suggested that Peggy take the role. In only thirty-six hours, Peggy learns twenty-five pages, six songs and ten dance numbers and becomes a star.

Songs include: Go into Your Dance, Young and Healthy, You’re Gettin to Be a Habit with Me, We’re in the Money, I Only Have Eyes for You, Lullaby of Broadway,

Forty-Second Street and more

GREASE (PG-13) Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin'”, “It’s Raining on Prom Night”, “Sandy” and “You’re The One That I Want” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An 8-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals place GREASE among the world’s most popular musicals.

Songs include: Summer Nights, Sandy, Mooning, We Go Together, Those Magic Changes, Greased Lightning, You’re The One That I Want and more

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (PG-14) adult humor

The New Mel Brooks Musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, is based on the 1974 comedy parody film of the horror film FRANKENSTEIN and

its 1939 sequel, SON OF FRANKENSTEIN. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronkensteen”) inherits a castle in Transylvania containing Igor, Inga and Frau Blucher. After discovering the secret entrance to his grandfather’s laboratory, Frederick decides to carry on the family experiments and creates a monster of his own.

Songs include: The Happiest Town in Town, The Brain, Please Don’t Touch Me, He Vas My Boyfriend, Transylvania Mania,

Irving Berlin’s Puttin On The Ritz and more

SHREK – the musical Based on award winning Dreamworks film

(PG-13)

Based on the award winning DreamWorks animation film, SHREK THE MUSICAL is this year’s must-see show for all the family. Join our unlikely hero and his loyal steed Donkey as they embark on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona from a fire breathing, love-sick dragon. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairytale misfits, and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got the biggest, brightest musical comedy around! SHREK THE MUSICAL brings all the much-loved DreamWorks characters to life, live on stage, in an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza. Join the adventure!

Songs include: Big Bright Beautiful World, Story of My Life, I Know It’s Today, The

Ballad of Farquaad, When Words Fail, Build a Wall, This Is Our Story and the classic Monkees’ song I’m a Believer and more

CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES (G)

The ever popular CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES are here to serve up some laughs! From the senior matriarch of the kitchen to the bride-to-be learning to arrange things in proper order, everyone will

recognize the humorous and down-to-earth characters. Added is a little romantic stir for the new pastor and the outcome is heavenly entertainment! The church basement kitchen throughout much of America is often the heart and soul of any church. In “CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES” we meet the pastor, three main kitchen cooks and one daughter who run the kitchen and care for the congregation by preparing and serving the food. Like any great kitchen, problems are solved here as well. We see the four women handle a Lutefisk Dinner, a funeral, an Easter Fund Raiser, and, of course, a wedding. They stave off potential disasters, have fun, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the pastor on due course. This musical comedy based on recipes, food, and change in the church is funny, heartwarming, and down to earth. It will bring back memories of many people you know from churches everywhere.

Songs include: Closer to Heaven, The Cities,

The Pale Food Polka, This Most Certainly is True, Dead Spread and more

HITS FROM THE 50’s,60’s & 70’s (G) The 50’s, 60’s & 70’s were 3 decades of some of the finest Rock and Roll music! Enjoy an evening of staged hits from artists like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Ritchie Valens, The Beach Boys, Elton John and more as the Bigfork Summer Playhouse brings you the HITS FROM THE 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, live onstage! (different than last year’s lineup- and more fun!)
