Business & Management Chronicle along with its online partner chronicleindia.in has come up with the B-Schools rating survey 2015.

The motive of the survey is to assist those young boys and girls who wish to join B-Schools that can enable them to explore their potential and earn a respectable job in good organisation.

The survey covers colleges across India and includes the old as well as new Business Schools providing full-time MBA programmes. Since last five years we are conducting this survey and ranking the institutions based on various parameters like accreditation, pedagogy, faculty, guest faculty, in-dustrial visits, placements, fee-structure along with the basic facilities like computer labs, Wi-Fi, library, hostel facilities, auditoriums etc. to help our es-teemed readers and students to find a good B-school.

Besides, we have ranked the institutes (who responded to our survey questionnaire) under each category like academics, intellectual capital, infra-structure, students & admission process. In addition, we have also conducted mini-survey of colleges to find the top ten institutes based on placement, in-dustry interaction, ROI etc. Based on the response of the B-schools we have given a list of global re-cruiters and top hundred domestic recruiters.

Further, to help the student in finding a good management institution in his/her home-state we have given a region-wise top B-schools.

In the present scenario, where the numbers of Business Schools are mushrooming, we are sure that those who are looking for admission in to a B-School would definitely find this survey valu-able.

MethodologyThe Survey was conducted in four phases.

To begin with professionals from B-schools and corporate were consulted for finalizing the survey questionnaire. These questionnaire were sent to more than 1000 business schools. More than 100 responses were received. Those which did not contain full information were not in-cluded in the survey.

In the second phase the data received from various B-schools were tabulated under differ-ent parameters that determine the excellence of an institution like faculty, infrastructure, cours-es offered, placement, academia-industry inter-face and so on.

In the third phase our team visited few busi-ness schools to ascertain the reliability of infor-

In the last and the fourth phase an in-depth analysis of the gathered information was done with the help of research tools. During this analysis process certain pa-rameter are given more weightage than the other. Amongst the parameters, placement was given the high-est weightage as it plays the most important role while choosing a B-school for a student. Next major determin-ing factor was the teaching faculty as it is the backbone of any institution. In fact, the essential factor that dif-ferentiates a good B-school from the not-so-good is its faculty.Then comes infrastructure, followed by industry-academia interface.

Based on these factors and weightage given to each parameters we have graded the institutions in seven categories – A+++, A++, A+, A, B++, B+, & B.

The Indian Institute of Management is a renowned institution for MBAs. Maxi-mum numbers of candidates want IIM to be their alma mater. As IIMs select the cream and give the best product. Student Exchange Programmes

IIM Calcutta has an extensive network of partner B-schools worldwide through which it conducts student exchange programmes. For the Post Graduate Programme, the student exchange programme (STEP) is usually held in the fifth term, between August–September and Decem-ber. Every year during this period, more than a hundred students from IIM Calcutta leave for foreign institutes, and an equivalent number from various B-schools arrive in IIM Calcutta to spend the term there. Other academic programmes of IIM-C also offer exchange programmes.

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmed-abad (IIMA) was established on December 11, 1961. IIMA has evolved from being

India’s premier management institute to a notable international school of management in just four decades. It was evident that to have a vision was not enough. Effective governance and quality education were seen as critical aspects.

The Institute had initial collaboration with Harvard Business School. This collaboration greatly influenced the Institute’s approach to education. Gradually, it emerged as a conflu-ence of the best of Eastern and Western values.

its latest ranking, The Economist has ranked IIMA at 56 among the top 100 international B-schools in the world that offer full time MBA. The Financial Times (FT) has ranked the two-year post graduate programme in management (PGP) of IIMA in the top ten pro-grammes in the category of Masters Programmes in Management that do not require work experience as pre-requisite for admission. FT reported that this was the first time that any Indian B-school was not only included in the survey but also achieved such high ranking.

The Financial Times has also ranked the one-year post graduate programme in management for executives (PGPX) among the top MBA programmes globally. The two post graduate programme in management with specialization in agri-sector (PGP-ABM) is ranked at number one among comparable programmes globally by Eduniversal.

In 2008, IIMA also became the first business school in the country to be awarded EQUIS (European Qual-ity Improvement System) accreditation. This accredita-tion awarded by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) certifies that the quality of IIMA’s academic processes and programmes are on par with the best business schools globally that have simi-lar accreditation.

Placement Record: As per CRISIL audited report in IIM Ahmedabad 100% placement has been done. As per the latest 2014 placement report of IIM Ahmedabad a total of 362 offers were made, out of which 343 were domestic offer and 19 offers were made internationally. The maximum placement offers were given in consulting firms. The other areas which offered placement were BFSI, IT, Conglomerates, Online Services, Engineering/Technology etc. Average domestic salary offered was RS 15-18 Lacs and Average International Salary offered was between $60-75 thousand annually.
