FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
This has been an incredibly difficult week. Firstly, we have experienced the extreme windy weather and icy cold, meaning that much of our outdoor activities have been cancelled and students have also played inside and under cover. We are looking forward to the warmer days ahead. Secondly, we also experienced the NBN outage as did many of you. This also meant that our phone system was also offline. Added to this was a faulty light in a classroom emitting smoke which meant a visit from the fire brigade, adding a bit of excitement to an otherwise dreary day. This light has since been repaired with no serious damage. Our students have handled this week incredibly well but we are all looking forward to getting back to normal school routines! Today, our years 5 and 6 students started their Passport for Success sessions with tutors from the Smith Family. This is a program which prepares students to cope with the different environment and organisation they experience in high school, as well as tips on how to succeed. This will continue each week until the end of term. We have now ordered a new shade sail to go over the adventure playground in readiness for the warmer weather. This coupled with the new soft fall, give the students a fabulous area to play in. Any funds we raise from the Fitnessathon will go towards the costs for these items.
