Follow these instructions to use the Equation Editor to complete the homework, quizzes, and tests in Duke TIP’s Algebra 1 Online Independent Learning course. These instructions are for Windows 7 only, for use in Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is not recommended.

1. Search for ‘Java’ in your Start menu. Click on “Configure Java” to open the Java Control Panel.

2. Under the ‘Security’ Tab, click “Edit Site List.”

3. Click “Add” and type in: http://duketip.thinkwell.com. Click “OK”.

4. Click “Continue” if you receive a security warning. On the Java Control Panel, click “OK”.

Open your course in Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is not recommended. You may be asked to allow Java to run. If you experience problems, please contact Duke TIP at il@tip.duke.edu for assistance.
