Each ALFSA organization recruits new members in their own way.

We suggest the following steps to finding the best fit for you:

1. Do your research: We have 17 organizations to choose from and each is unique. We

suggest learning about each organization’s individual qualities. You can do this in a variety

of ways:

a. Website: Use the links above to find a brief description of each of our

organizations. Take some time to look though each organization and find out what

they are all about.

b. Read: On our resources page we have various links that might interest you.

Finding out how and why each organization was founded can help you decide

which organization is for you.

2. Attend Events: Our ALFSA organizations are extremely involved on campus. All 17 of

them regularly hold informational and educational events while participating in council and

department events. Find out about these events on our calendar page! Attending events is

a great way to meet the active members and learn even more about the chapter.

3. Introduce yourself: When you have found an organization that you are interested in, let

them know. Introduce yourself to the active members and ask them what their process for

membership is like. They will be able to tell you the steps you need to take to join their

organization.

**You must be a full-time, undergraduate, St. John’s University student with at least a 2.25 to be eligible for Intake. However, the minimum GPA may be higher, depending on the organization.**
