HDMI(High-DefinitionMultimediaInterface®) delivers the best possible picture and sound quality that your advanced AV equipment can deliver. Experience 3D movies and gaming at home—3D is accomplished with two separate images being sent to your TV, one for each eye. Current refresh rates of 50Hz and 100Hz will double to 100Hz and 200Hz, respectively, in televisions and sources. Twice the refresh rate means twice the bandwidth. The HDMI Ethernet Channel adds high-speed networking to an HDMI link, allowing users to take full advantage of their IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable. HDMI Cables from IMAX are constructed beyond industry standards to achieve peak performance and a maximum AV visual and audio experience.

Cornerstone Theater Company is proud to present Bridge Awards to community leader John Malpede, long-time community participant Nancy Yee, and a Foundation Bridge Award to the Wallace Foundation.

These awardees’ work and personal dedication to issues facing our society exemplify the power of the artistic spirit to enrich the lives and expand the voice of a community.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Cornerstone is a multi-ethnic, ensemble-based theater company. We commission and produce new plays, both original works and contemporary adaptations of classics, which combine the artistry of pro-fessional and community collaborators. By making theater with and for people of many ages, cultures and levels of theatrical experience, Cornerstone builds bridges between and within diverse communities in our home city of Los Angeles and nationwide.

Over the past 18 years, Cornerstone has commissioned 35 playwrights and has produced over 55 new works. Ensemble productions have received particular critical acclaim in major Los Angeles and national press, winning numerous awards. We have shared our methods with colleagues through com-missioned collaborations with larger institutions, including DC's Arena Stage, The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, LA's Museum of Contemporary Art, Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Great Lakes Theatre Festival in Cleveland, and George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 2000, Cornerstone produced its largest community collaboration to date: For Here or To Go? presented on the Mark Taper Forum’s mainstage in association with the Los Angeles Public Library.

Currently, Cornerstone is collaborating with communities of faith in our home city of Los Angeles to pro-duce our four year Faith-Based Theater Cycle. 2001 kicked off the cycle with a city-wide festival called the Festival of Faith at five diverse places of worship throughout Southern California. In 2002, the company collaborated with Catholic immigrants throughout Southern California to produce Crossings – Journeys of Catholic Immigrants at St. Vibiana’s Cathedral in Los Angeles. This spring, Cornerstone collaborated with gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people of faith in Body of Faith, followed this summer by by Order My Steps, a community collaboration with the Black clergy and people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The cycle will culminate in 2005 with the production of the Faith-Based Bridge Show, which will bring together participants from previous Faith-based collaborations.

The Faith-Based Theater Cycle is an exploration of how issues of faithboth unite and divide us in society.

Staff and volunteers at WFH collect and refurbish used wheelchairs and deliver and personally fi t them to impoverished children and adults in developing countries. Since its founding, WFH has helped more than 24,000 people with disabilities in more than 54 countries gain increased mobility and dignity.

In 1996, WFH incorporated into a 501 (c) 3 non-profi t. Now the organization operates from a 10,880-square-foot warehouse in North Hollywood, California, where a small staff and a large volunteer workforce collect donated wheelchairs and refurbish them to suit the needs of individual people with disabilities in developing countries — people who would otherwise be unable to afford a wheelchair. Wheels for Humanity is able to keep its costs at a minimum by securing free shipping in order to send these refurbished wheelchairs to developing countries like Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Uganda,Nigeria, Mongolia, Thailand and Ukraine.
