I have come quite a long way since leaving my bilingual high school and my hometown of North Bay for Toronto. I left behind family and friends, but I never really looked back. For the last four years, I have been an undergraduate student whose purpose was to learn valuable life and career skills. I am incredibly proud of who I am today and what my years in Toronto brought me. I arrived an unsure teenager and I will be leaving a confident adult. Most of that is due to my time at Ryerson University, but a lot of it is also due to the people I have met, the experiences I have had in the work force and the constant drive for personal growth. Thanks to my university education at Ryerson, I have acquired a plethora of skills and competencies relating to the Media Industry. I have learned what it takes to run a studio show from both the technical and the production sides. I have learned what goes in to properly filming an editorial on the street. I have learned how to write well for most forms of media. I have learned how to pull together an hour-long live radio show in a deadline intensive environment. I have learned how to organize, produce and host my own radio show. I have learned how to pitch an idea to a potential funder and what that pitch needs for him or her to be sold on my idea. I have learned the gist of what goes into copyright law, contract law and other types of media law. I have learned how to do live sports productions and what it takes to be a successful on-air personality. Most recently, I have learned how difficult it is to create, produce and shoot your own television show in a team setting. As the producer, I had to finance and budget for our project, scout locations and acquire permits for those locations. I had never done any of these things before. It was incredibly stressful but I loved every single minute of it. Ryerson has put me in situations that I never dreamed of being in and has introduced me to some of the most beautifully creative people I have ever met.

The Media Production Program has thrown me into the frying pan time and time again, and every single time I came out stronger and a better person. Because of all of this, I am entirely confident that I am ready to begin my professional career with full force, as it has taught me that success requires work ethic, dedication, attitude, modesty and patience. I am incredibly excited to take the next step.

Being on my own for the first time, I also had to learn some valuable life skills, including working part-time to pay for my studies and my expenses. Through my work experience, I have learned what it means to be a good employee and co-worker. I have learned how to be customer-focused, always being patient and courteous. I have learned what it takes to successfully run and operate a food business, at two different locations. I have learned what goes into trying to get a start-up off of the ground and what it takes for it to get past its initial phase of inception. I have learned what it is like working and volunteering in the media industry, what type of business etiquette it requires to make connections and to keep those connections. I have learned how to acquire new clientele, how to sell that clientele on your business and how to keep them interested. I am an avid technology user, being quite proficient in Mac products, Excel, Final draft and Avid. I have learned how to professionally

write emails and answer phone calls. I have learned that a busy schedule is the best schedule.

I have learned that I am a morning person and that I take pride in working harder than everyone else. I have learned that I am incredibly adaptable, that I strive for growth through change and new experiences. I have learned that my biggest asset is my ability to learn things very quickly and efficiently. I have come to a point now where I honestly believe I could take anything head on because I understand that half of the battle is what type of attitude you carry into every day. I have learned to treat every single person you come across with respect because respect goes a long way. Basically, you are defined by how you are with people, in each and every encounter. I am very proud of where life has brought me thus far and I am incredibly proud of the fact that I have learned and worked while keeping a strong sense of ethics and personal passion to continuously improving. I wholeheartedly believe that I am ready for the next step. I am eager for an opportunity that will give me more responsibility, which will put more pressure on my shoulders and which will allow me to grow further into a well-rounded adult. I am eager to learn and eager to take my step-up in my working career.

The attached curriculum vitae provides more details on my qualifications and work experience thus far. I see myself working in communications and with people. I see myself working independently or as part of a team to coordinate and contribute creatively to a project or initiative or to achieve goals and outcomes. I see myself aligning my passion and enthusiasm to a vision for change.
