Alex is the seventh child to Tymko (Tom) Prytula and Yewka (Eva) Senchyna
Alex was born on the Prytula Farmstead near Tway April 1, 1924

he married Martha Pretchuk. Martha is a song writer and free-

Alex’s Accomplishments-Under John Welsh influence – Won NE Sask Softball Championship.-Won East Central H.S. Baseball Championships. -Butler Byers Trophy, Saskatoon 242 4H Clubs.-Tway High Schoo Principal -Buchanan VP -Invermay H.S. Principal-Nipawin H.S. Principal-Canora H.S. Vice P. –Teachers Counselor STF–Dept. of Educ. - drew-up exams students wrote.-Prince Albert Composite H.S. VP-Pres. Lions Band: Built Hall for $1.00.-TV show Education in the home shown across the West. Family awards in music. -St. Mary’s College – Planned new school as Principal – All boys. Initiated many new programs still used in Sask. today.
Alex’s Accomplishments
-1960 International Nickel Scholarship in Advanced Math – Scholarship Univ. of Sask.
-1962-1968 Summers studied under United States Science Foundation as the only Canadian selected with 24 Canadian College & H.S. Teachers Scholarships of about $2400/summer towards a Masters Degree in Science from University of Iowa and University of Minnesota.
-A visiting Instructor/Professor at Universities both Saskatoon & Regina 1962-67 for High School teachers to be accredited to teach the new B.S.C.S. Biology.
Alex’s Accomplishments
-At the request of the B.C. Government, Alex organized & chaired the 3 East Kootenay B.C. Russian groups and united them.
-Today they work together, don’t burn schools or parade in the nude anymore. A wonderful success.

Flight Lieutenant 3rd Cadet Squadron – Sports Director at Air Force Base Vancouver now Vancouver International Airport.
-Major of Sports and Swim at Vernon Army Cadet Camp. Hired his 5 sons as officers who assisted Alex and later lead after Alex retired.
-Alex lead a Phys. Ed. staff of 39. Alex built the programs, wrote the books on the program, which is now used in all camps across Canada.
In 2002, Vernon Legion, VACC, Vernon City honored Alex for his contribution in helping to save the Cadet movement in Canada. DND reported Cadet numbers are overwhelming. Books are written on this program.
Alex’s Military Career:
-Chosen to coach Rifle competitors from Canada for NATO competition in Bisley, England. -In 1957, selected to represent English Canada at School of Instructional Techniques, with NATO officers from Turkey, France, Germany, England, Canada and US.
